Hi Mark,
Just wondering if it's annoying that people are still sending open letters to Philip Rosedale instead of you even though you are the CEO and Philip is the Chairman. I mean, people didn't send their open letters to Mitch Kapor when he was chairman of the board and Philip was CEO, did they?
Well, that's all I have to say; good luck running the zoo.
Your friend,
Rotary Fan

Speaking of M Linden, I hope he finally made his way out of the lag that is Hair Fair And M, if Phil offers the cod piece.. just say no. Or if you do take it, burn it.

From: Oryx Tempel I wonder how much it costs to dry clean, and if LL foots the bill. Depends on the amount of staining... probably in the hundreds. And dry cleaners don't accept L$.

Hmmm, I still have the RL outfit that Philip wore at SLCC 1 (which was a replica of his avatar). Maybe I'll bring it this year and try to get Mark into it!

Dear Mark:
It's us, the rest of the Lindens. We're writing to you with an extremely serious concern. Recently, following your installation in the office of Grand High Holy McFeezer of The Grid, you instituted a plan you refered to as Operation Cut The Deadwood. We thought for a moment that you were planning to get rid of those amazing HBO Miniseries, but much to our chagrin, we found out that what you really intended to do was cut the buget.
As much as we can appreciate fiscal responsibility in others, we just don't think it is for us. In particular, we truly miss Donut Fridays, and those free t-shirts worked great for washing our cars. The annual Christmas party at the All-You-Can-Eat Chinese Buffet was one of our favorite events of the year. Last year, Jeska ate five plates of that greasy General Tso's Chicken and spent the rest of the night in the ladies room crying. It was GREAT!
The new policy forbidding us from taking office supplies home for our personal use also has us quite down. We go through a LOT of office supplies, and only a few of us were selling reams of paper and boxes of Bic pens on Craig's List. We just don't see how the savings to the company justifies the loss of our side income.
In closing, we would like to request that you cut the budget by more conventional means and return to us our beloved job perks. We suggest firing the whole customer service department and replacing them with trained chimpanzees would be both entertaining and less expensive. Perhaps we could also release more land for sale to increase costs. 500 regions per week shoud suffice, and we're sure it will sell like hotcakes.
Anyway, we have to go. It's Day Spa Thursday and we have facials in 10 minutes.
Sincerely and most truly and lovingly yours,
Entitlement Linden.

From: Cristalle Karami This is true. The only one that is really invested is Philip, because it's his brainchild. I disagree about Mitch. Though he may still be a noob as a user, he is a true believer, and has hawked this platform to anyone who would listen. He has been tireless, and very visible to the startup community, worldwide. He will lose a lot of credibility if LL turns out not to be a winner. p.s. He would also lose a huge chunk of cash, being LL's largest private investor, I believe. .

I love that, I noticed Entitlement Linden didn't suggest passing the buck and increasing cost to residents or perhaps that would be MakingtheResidentsfurious Linden would suggest that? From: Trout Recreant Dear Mark:

M Linden is no noob. If one does a bit of digging around on Google, one can find that he's been aware (and commenting on) SecondLife for a couple of years now.

(PS: I bet the trained chimpanzees would have a higher customer satisfaction rate too)
