Yesterday, I was at a 9 hour sale from a well known designer. Everything was 50L. I purchased quite of few items for myself but I also wanted to get some things for the BF but of course....non transferable and I couldn't get it them as a gift. Well the salesperson on site responded immediately. His name is Stephen Psaltery. He told me to note the items I wanted, list the prices and the BF's name on a notecard, send payment to Stephen and he will deliver the items. Well at first I was leery. But I started to notice the notes he was sending out on tips of navigating around the store, advising how many avies were there and when you can tp someone there. I followed the instructions Stephen provided. Stephen sent me updates letting me know the status of my order and the ETA of the items.

About an hour later the items were delivered to the BF without any problems. He loved it so much, we ended up going to the store and he purchased some clothes.

This vendor must have looked at the situation created from the going out of business sale at Last Call and ETD (ETD did have on site sales people). The below were noticable improvements.

1. Having an on site sales person.
2. Updates on how many avies are on location and when you can tp someone in through I believe sim notice as I am not a member of the group.
3. The offer of delivery of non-transferable items.
4. Stephen Psaltry.

It was very laggy, but interestingly enough hardly anyone complained as I believe it was because of the steady stream of communications from the staff. That was not the case at Last Call and ETD. Given the challenges of the lag, actually the shopping experience was quite pleasant.

I also told Stephen I was going to post my experience on the sl forum. So, Stephen if you happen to read this - BIG UPS TO YOU.... THANKS.

I bet you could name the store, it isn't advertising if you are giving Kudos! I would love to know and I'm probably not the only one hehe

It was Style Starts Here and the designer was Simone. And I went to her other location and purchased some gowns that was on sale.

It was probably during your sl exile.

ETD had a hair sale, everything was 25L. They were running a sale at the same time as Last Call was. I could've sworn they were going out of business too, perhaps the location was closing. If not, my bad. Nevertheless the shopping experience at both vendors was difficult to say the least.

Thank you HoneyBear, I knew I wasn't trippin about ETD. Glad to hear ETD didn't go out of business.

Kate, yesterday is was by pure accident. I logged on and one of my running buddies said it in her conference and tp'd me there. If you like, if you go inworld, look me up and offer friendship and I will be more than happy to let you know next time I run across one again. Also sometime in search vendors will list it under events. I check that out as well. I know Boa Creations mentioned I think today a hair giveaway.

lol, Kate - I mentioned the SSH 12-hour sale in the "never ending" thread; we often put the word out in there when we hear of something...

And Sable, yes SSH did a fantastic job at yesterday's sale!! Everyone was very helpful. I managed to drop "a few" lindens there. :p

Stephen was very helpful to me on another occasion, when I was shopping at the store. I had questions about some items I was interested in and he got back to me right away with the answers. :)

i spent LOADS! Join the Simone group and you get lots of info from her about new releases, special sales...sometimessss she drops a cool FREEBIE too! But really her clothing is so detailed and so WORTH the money it feels wrong to get a freebie somehow.

Why is it that this forum lately has been plugs for businesses? I've seen several threads list many many businesses recently.. I do not think it is fair to others that some are allowed yet others not.

Why is it ok to post this but yet not about someone you had an issue with?

Everyone is struggling for sales and I think this is highly unfair to other businesses to plug certain ones and not others.

I don't think that at least the OP was plugging. Maybe later posters were, but I really doubt the OP was. Simone isn't one who needs attention by plugging her clothes everywhere.
On top of that, the OP didn't link or even mention the store, but one of the sales people.

I'm very happy I ran into this thread, since I went through the hassle of figuring out the store, to go look and actually bought some clothes that I will actually wear regularly, for the first time since over a year ago I might add. (yes, I've been wearing the same shirt and pants for that long!)

Oh yes, to those jealous of the attention: there's a horrible lack of nice clothes for guys in SL. There are only 3-4 flavours in SL of clothes for men, so about everything gets recycled over and over. I'm NOT a bloody gangstah, I'm NOT another idiot claiming to be part of teh rael mafia, I'm NOT a goth or a vampire wearing clumsy capes, I'm NOT a bodybuilder wanting to show off his steroid shape. Oh, and no sane person wears suits 24/7. Ties even less. There has been a horrible lack of *normal* *quality* clothes for men, and you hear me, I ACTUALLY BOUGHT CLOTHES THERE!
Now wonder why I never bought any men's clothes at your shop? Advertise as you like, as long as you put your creativity there instead of in your clothes, I might visit, but I won't ever buy a thing there.

I'm rather sure the more fashion aware peope have known her place for a while already, while the dispensed notecard is humorous proof that even people new to SL know where to find it.

I fully support OP.

My intent was not to plug a business just merely underscore the excellent customer service I received from Mr. Psaltery. SL mirrors rl in so manys. Bad news travels fast. Well for once, I wanted to express some good news. That man worked hard that night and he deserved to be recognized. SIMPLE AS THAT.

If you take a look again, I did not originally post the name of the vendor until someone said it probably was ok. Upon my 2nd posting I did. Additionally, I was not critical of the other vendor's product. The purpose of listing the other vendors was to provide a comparision of my shopping experience. Which obviously was shared by others.

The other point I would like to make is, in addition to providing kudos to Mr. Psaltery, I was wanted to provide customer feedback to other vendors out there that maybe contemplating of having a sale of that magnitude. There are many wonderful vendors and THEIR STAFF in sl that provides excellent service but really never get their kudos.

Thank you kind sir. I agree with your statement of *normal* *quality* clothes for men. My BF has the same problem. When I first met him I was like good Lord what is he wearing. Luckily I didnt let that turn me away from him. He is a wonderful catch.

Anyway, he too is not the type of people you listed in your posting. Presumably, like you, he is just a regular avie looking guy. Lord, I hope that came across alright. His taste in clothes mirrors his rl taste and like you he had trouble finding things. He loves to shop and has plently of disposal income to patron these stores its just a matter him finding them. I am sure he will be returning to that vendor in the very near future.

That's very much the same here. I find it pointless (for myself, no offense to those who enjoy acting or pretending) to presume I am another person in SL than who I am in RL, this goes for both personality and tastes.

I have a small income in SL, and have no trouble shopping for very nice outfits for some female friends. Especially those who find little time to do so themselves. It's not hard running into stores of quality similar to Blaze, Insolence, KC's, you name it. There are many good clothes designers for women in every mall. Once you start picking up LM's for their mainstores, you'll find many top brands clustered in their home sims. I've probably spent some 20-25k on buying all kinds of clothes for friends (including some Blaze gift vouchers I gave away last christmas), compared to maybe 1k on my own clothes, simply because there wasn't anything worthwhile. With nothing to spend it on for myself, do you still think it strange I spent so much on my friends?

Finding a normal guys' clothes is like the wellknown needle in the haystack. After a few weeks of finding nothing of interest, you simply give up, and hope that one day you run into some gem like this unexpectedly. It took a year, but I did find the gem.
