I've finally had a chance to work on my maps again. So here's an update for second quarter 2008. BTW--I'm looking for more "Points of Interest" on the Heterocera Atoll continent, so any contributions of such would be appreciated. These new versions should show up inworld on your kiosk.net map clients within a day.

I hope to have time to do some new maps this summer, too.

Linden Lab Mainland Continents
Changes:
Added newly completed section of Jeogeot continent
Added remainder of Corsica continent
Added Gaeta continent
Added new Bay City sims to Sansara
Slightly compressed space between eastern and western continents so as to fit map on 1024x1024 image.

Sansara & Heterocera Atoll
Changes:
Added Bay City region
Removed Imperial Forest LM (sold by owner)
Added Forest of Kahruvel
Added Infrared Wind road network overlay

I recently added a couple Heterocera Atoll points of interest to what was the SL History wiki. Here's four more for you:

The Great Wall
Griefer containment pond (No page: this is in the sim below calleta, on the shoreline)
Vicinia Quay
Zygaena Crater

More information is at http://secondlife.wikia.com/wiki/Heterocera_Atoll

Nice seeing the roads on there. Any chance of getting route 66 an route 50 added?

Mari

I noticed the other day a smaller island appearing some way to the north-west of Gaeta, whose regions also had the provisional tags of 'Gaeta'.

Great map - I've had a copy on display at my place for a long time.

Likewise, it's been a regular feature on my workshop wall for as long as it's been around, and had led me to many great explorations.

I agree. Wish there was some way to put a small shield on em, with the route numbers. Well, of the ones we know as having route numbers.

I have two of them listed (Great Wall and Zygaena Crater), but I will be looking for the others. Thank you.

I had no idea that any of the linden roads had been assigned names or numbers. I will look into it.

BTW--the road overlays are all from the work of Infrared Wind that he generously shared with me. I added a credit line on the map.

I will check that out. Maybe Gaeta will be larger and less boring than it looks :)

Don't be so modest! You did all the work on the roads--and I really appreciate it!

Is there a list of these route numbers anywhere?

Route 50 - Noval Albion to Shermerville

Route 66 - Bay City to Ahern

Route 1-6 - see http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Department_of_Public_Works_Roads -- note that to the best of my knowledge, only Route 1 is currently being worked on, and none of these are currently completed. Route 6 appears to be the Great Wall.

In another thread I had asked about other possibly numbered roads, but the above seen to *currently* be it.

It's a completely separate land mass North of the eastern side of Corsica.
There are about 120 sims in it at the moment, with the usual sharp cutoff where more sims will be added.
If they continue it Eastwards above Geata, they will maybe have about 700 or 800 sims in this new continent.

So far the coastline has a little bit more event than Gaeta.

I can see my home sim, at the least. I'm on the Eastern edge of Southern Islandia.

I believe all the new sims are Class 5. Continent != sim

I'm on the northeast corner of a little island just above the first "e" in "Hidden Lakes Region".
