Problem setting up group building permissions on new land

Hi

I have just bought my first ever parcel of land. It is a small 512 plot and I seem to be having problems with setting up group only permissions on the land.

I have set "Create Object" "Object Entry" and "Run Scripts" to group only.

I then unticked "Allow Public Access" I then put my friends name on the "Allowed Residents" list.

I also set up a new group and got her to join it and gave her building and scripting rights in the group.

She can now access the land fine however - for her, building and scripting is disabled here on my land and she is wearing the group tag I gave her too.

Also I have noticed "Allow Group access" is greyed out.

Is there something I am doing wrong when setting this up? Never done this before so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You didn't say that you deeded the land to the group. That's necessary for group settings to have an effect.

Also, create an alt and join the group with it. If your friend leaves the group, and you are the only left in it, the group will disappear the next day - and so will your land if it's deeded to (owned by) the group.

That is not true I think Phil. My land is not deeded, and I set building to group only. Wearing the group tag, people can indeed rezz their stuff, wherw without tag they cannot. Maybe its the Allow Public Access setting?

Also make sure only you and your alt can sell the land.

The next question is whether it is set to the group, which isn't the same as deeding it to the group.

Interesting. I'd forgotten about the possibility of setting a piece of land to a group. Anyway, the problem sorted out now, so all is well.
