Find the skin in your inventory, then right click and select properties. In there is creator name.

Veeva, Keira explained some different action than you actually tried. Do not click on your avatar but go to the skin in your *inventory* and right click on that one. In the context menu, select Properties.

The properties on some skins and clothes can leave you guessing, with the creator listed as ";(unknown)", or with an incorrect creator if the textures were applied to a default skin instead of through the create menu. Sometimes, but not always, this can be an indication of a rip. For these, about the best you can do is show it around (maybe grab a snapshot or two of yourself wearing it) and hope that someone can recognize it.

Sorry for my one sentence post earlier.. iss late.. and I'm tired >.<

Ended up sounding rude, I think, and didn't take the time to explain better. Thanks to both Viktoria and Marck
