When I started SL I made my own hair. I've since then bought some better hair. For some reason I can't get the hair I made off. I've tried to detach it but it won't. I've tried to even delete the file but it won't do that either. I've tried everything I can think of if no luck and I'm fustrated. Help !

When you put your new hair on it should replace the hair you made.
Did you actually make your own hair or do you just mean you made it with the sliders on the default? If so, when you buy hair it should also come with a bald head to wear as well as the new hair.

go to body parts and look for the baldies, wear it then wear the hair, unless the hair came with a baldie.

The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

Dillion, note also that your eyebrow position and shape (arched, flat, lalala) is also in the bald cap! So unless you want your eyebrows to change all the time, pick a bald cap to wear, adjust the eyebrows, and always wear THAT one.

help with my advatar

When I put the hair on it just laid it on top of the other hair. I'll look for a bald cap. Should I remove the skull/scalp of my advatar?

@ OP: Nope. When you wear a bald cap (or baldie), it replaces the hair you created with the sliders, no matter how long it was. So, before you put the bald cap on, you may want to go to your inventory and type "worn", which will show you just what you are currently "wearing". That way you'll know what the name is of the hair you created, so you will be able to find it again! You may even want to make a copy of it, and your avatar, and the eyes you're wearing, and the skin you're wearing, and put them into a folder named "ME" or something. That way you can safely experiment with changing your look. Anytime you want to return to the way you used to be, just right-click on the folder and choose "replace outfit". Poof! you will be you again. Once you're wearing the baldie, wear whatever hair (also called "wig" that you want. It will attach itself to your "skull" attachment point. You can adjust its position and size etc. using the edit pie choice.

Dillion, one thing that folks might not've made quite clear...
There are two kinds of hair. The default hair that comes with your avatar, that you can adjust with the appearance sliders...and prim hair, that you buy and attach to your head.
If you don't get rid of the original avatar hair, it can show through the prim "wig" of your new hair. So, each wig also comes with a bald base, or "baldie". This is basically a version of the default hair with all the sliders set to zero.
So, you wear the baldie, to get rid of any default hair, and then you wear your new prim wig.

I was just reading a comment by Moo Money about the Playstation Home in which she was saying that she had no interest in any virtual world that has advertising.
Then I see this post about "advatars".
