land group buying w/o premium

Hi,

I bought some land, 2 x 512msq blocks and made a group, joined my alt and deeded both blocks to the group...

Can my alt now buy some land for the group, it's on a free account... If so, will it put my or the groups tier up or does the group holding the 1024sqm cover it?

The group info is bloody hard to understand, I have read it in the SL site a few times and kind of grasp it.

Edit: I am a premium member and this is my first buy, the alt isn't. We are both owners of the land group.

Only a Premium member can buy Mainland. If your alt buys land on the mainland, it gets upgraded to Premium and you get charged for that membership fee.

There's another nice block beside me, it's so tempting as it seems to say the alt can buy it fine, but I won't press *buy*, eh.

I thought that a basic account could "buy for group" as long as the group had tier already available to cover the purchase - thought I had actually read that here in the forums?

As the Group has 1024sqm donated with 1024sqm held it can buy an extra 102sqm without needing further tier donation due to the mainland group bonus.

Any land above that will require a further donation from a tier paying account.

Right. In addition to the group having enough contributed tier to cover a purchase, the alt has to be assigned a role in the group that has the Ability to buy land for the group. It's a good idea to have an alt as another Owner of the group anyway, and Owners definitely have that ability.

(Because land comes in 16 sq.m. units, the most you can actually get from that 102 sq.m. bonus is 96 sq.m. -- 6 x 16.)

i dont have a premium account, but i do buy land!
ensure your group has sufficient tier donated to it. you can rent tier from elanthius flagstaff quite cheap.
right click the land, about land > buy for group.

Yes thanks, I have 102 there...

I am glad I didn't... I got up this morning and the really nice block beside me that had trees and stuff all builds on it, just like I am doing and was a big part of why I chose the spot, thinking oh the neighbors look like they care for the lands aesthetics, well it now has an ugly big pink box on it and it just sobered me up... No big screen walls as yet though, thank god.

It's on the mainland and In a sparsely, yet well built emptish spot, (for now) I read people talking about viewers that can mute objects to invis, great feature... hope it's in a new release of sl soon.
