Multiple Viewers stopped working

These days when I try to run multiple instances of the Viewer,
the second one will launch, but the screen just stays black,
and I eventually have to kill it. The program has stopped responding.

I guess something changed; in the past I've run 3 at a time,
now I can't get more than one to go. What could be wrong?

I can still run 3 viewers without a problem. The welcome screen does not always appear, but I think that has something more to do with Restrained Life than SL, but I am able to run multiple viewers of the standard client as well as RLV.

I find that I have to double-click the icon to launch the second viewer then quickly maximize the first before it's finished detecting hardware settings. Otherwise it seems to misdetect them and get all higgledy-piggeldy.

I usually run two instances and find it works pretty well minimizing each window before switching to the next one. Seems to go a little easier on the cpu.

Another tip for multiple windows is to have one shortcut link for each avatar and each set up with the name and password so you don't have to worry about entering the login information every time:

C:\installdir\secondlife\SecondLife.exe -multiple --login FirstName LastName password
