It seems like all the higher-end jeans are cut really low. I have some freebie pants, including a pair of black "leather" pants with a built-in belt, that are higher cut w/o having to use an underpants layer, so I know it's possible. Does anyone have any leads?

if you find any... let us know, back in my newb days I had all kinds of pants that worked with t-shirts that were on undershirt layer without having my belly showing to the world.... now it's either jacket layer, or naked... anything on shirt or undershirt has huge gaps before the pants.

I find the stuff at Lavish to be a bit higher up:

- Without going into the extremely high up the hips like 70s fashions.

Her freebie at Free Dove is a really nice preview.

- is me in world using map while standing on top of it.

Seems a lot of jeans are like that. Makes it hard to me to find any that work.

For some jeans options that are higher cut, Try Robin Wood's AV store, right around http://slurl.com/secondlife/Livingtree/95/135/24/ - she has a couple different styles and colors, are very well textured (hand drawn, even) and they do match up with what you're looking for.

Edited to add: I forgot that she has the "fat packs" on XStreet, too

I've just accepted the fact that my midriff is going to be showing if I wear most jeans and a t-shirt. I typically look for complete outfits now and buy several from the same designer which usually allows me to mix-n-match between them and still maintain good coverage as the designer uses the same template for all their clothes.

I really don't wear jeans, so for me to keep them in my inventory they have to be nicely made. I picked up a pair of Vintage jeans at Little Fish a couple of weeks ago, so they should still be available.

The midriff situation is bad enough, but it's the exposed butt situation in back that really frustrates me, esp. since as my av walks around in SL, *I* am the one who has to look at it the entire time.

Thanks for the links; I'll check 'em out!

I know League has some wide belts and I have seen others too but can not remember right off who sold them. They look like wide cloth belts and they are worn on the jacket layer. You can get them in an assortment of colors and are just the thing to cover up that gap between the bottom of a shirt and the top of low-rise pants.

Awww Michael ... I won't beat you up for it. Come on by with your tummy showing. I'll do your hair, paint your nails, and give you a good makeover to match. Then I'll introduce you to my Girly Boi friends.

Even for a girl, it's not okay. I mean, when did it become acceptable for girls to walk around with bare midriffs and half their ass hanging out of their pants? Are we leading ourselves down our own path to destruction, to the return of days when guys think women really ARE just sluts waiting to be used and abused?

say "no" to high waisted jeans. They will make you look like a dork. What I do is only buy T-shirts that come with the bottom section of the shirt on the underpants layer.

I would think that the jeans made for men in SL would not be all about the buttcrack. I have not seen any men with plumber's butt.

I love tshirts done on the jacket layer, and also include the underpants layer for the tucked in look!
(heck any shirt done this way, doesn't "need" to be a tshirt)

I have an old pair of RaC (LAQ) jeans that have a nice high waist that works with all my T’s.

I’ve yet to find anything as good but I need to soon because these are really starting to fade. :p

Yeah... there are much better jeans out there. Look at how big and stretched the pockets look and how the waist band just cuts off with no real end to the texture. Not good.

Marianne, TY, the Robin Wood jeans are good, even if they aren't the most trendy ones in SL......I'm not very trendy in RL, either. :-)

The biggest reason I don't like to wear shirts on the jacket layer is cuz I really like the semi preppy look... with a t-shirt, then a button down shirt just over that undone, bottom untucked etc etc... I have lots of the button down shirt like that, but I'll be damned if i can find jeans that will let me wear the t-shirt underneath that shirt.....

no wonder guys usually just go shirtless 90% of the time... so much less hastle

Oh now that's one of my absolute FAVORITE looks (this is sarcasm) where you have the low-cut jeans, the t-shirt that's not long enough, and the loose shirt over that, so that the belly button is like it's in a cute little picture frame. AUGH

IMO you would do well in the Robin Wood jeans.

Yer welcome! She tends to do comfortable clothing, not always trendy, but always well done and super useful. but again, I'm biased. :-)

I recently picked up a 5-pack of woman's jeans (on both pants and underwear layer) from RBZ Design, by Ralektra Breda. They provide nice coverage of the backside and come up to a reasonable height in the front. Very nice texturing, too.

I can't remember what I paid for the pack, but it was something very reasonable.

I haven't tried Robin Wood's jeans, but based on other stuff I've bought from her shop, I feel comfortable recommending them. In fact, I really ought to pop over there and check them out myself. (While you're there, don't forget to pick up a - free - set of barefoot socks and gloves. They go a long way to eliminating that annoying flesh-tone bleeding on the inner leg of wide-leg system pants, while leaving your feet bare.) She's got some nice tees and Hawaiian shirts as well.
