ACK! Phantom script!

Hello. I'm having an awful problem. I bought a script object to animate my mouth and it worked fine. I detached it a long time ago, but every time I log in to SL, I get the message that the object wants to animate me. Whether I click "Yes" or "No", the dialog just reappears. To get rid of it I have to type "Mute". The problem is that that object prevents *any other* script from animating me, so even pose balls don't work. Sometimes I can fix it by clicking "Yes" in the mouth dialog a few times before I mute it - then pose balls work. I still have the mouth object in my inventory, and I can attach it and it works normally - but I can't get rid of the phantom script.

This is happening on 3 computers, two Windows and one Mac, and one of them is a new installation, so it probably isn't a cache problem.

PLEASE HELP!

Thank you,

Ashley

If you go to another Region, does it still happen?

Or does it go away and then come back when you are in your usual sim?

Hi. I did some experiments and it only happens when I go to my land. However, I have picked up everything on the property (using the Land tool), and it has happened in two different houses. THANKS!

You own the whole sim? It could very well be next door - or at 0,0.

Lots of funky things can happen with attachments falling off at TP time and ending up in weird spots.

Best bet would be to contact the sim owner (preferably someone with estate rights) and have them come by. Give them the EXACT name of this object as it appears in your inventory and they should be able to find it on the top scripts list. (or if you don't have the exact name, and you don't have much out - they might find it just by searching for things owned by you).

It can be a drag to chase down, but it's relatively easy to find with the estate tools - and any decent sim owner will help you track it down. If it's on the mainland... i dunno. Maybe a ticket? been a while since I had to deal with issues there.

Maybe you dropped the attachment instead of detatching it, or just accidentally rezd a copy somewhere. These types of attachments are often small, transparent prims, so if you go to the View menu and highlight transparent, that may help you search for it - but all the time your emoter attachment is rezd somewhere in the sim, your animations will remain active within that same sim.

Yes hit CTRL ALT T you might be able to find it.

I'm also wondering if it's possible the script could be in a prim you wear, but since you only get the message on your land I'd say the item the script's in is on your land too (like Deira says).

Find, and delete with extreme prejudice. Lol (or a prim scrub script)

YAY! A very nice gentleman named Mr. Qie Niangao met me at my house and he found TEN of those scripts (outside, floating in the air). I deleted all of them, and now I'm fixed!

Thank you for your responses!
