Censorship PG Mature Editing Etc Etc

WHAT is this "thing" people have with censorship and PG and Mature and adult? WHO really cares?? Nipples and bums are what we all have. If "child" avis hear a "rude" word so effing what? They have to be OVER 18 so at least drop THAT pretence. I am a real artist and I really work in Arts actively. I pay NO attention to ratings and censorship and NO artist does (unless they draw for Beano and Dandy comics). BUT SL is getting positively MEDIEVAL in its approach to free expression in its "take" on allowed behaviours and attitudes.
Lindens and forum people: WHO are we all trying to please? This is a company that really doesn't need to answer to any one - it's NOT a public stock - why should any of us care about this ratings system and this guidance nonsense when last time ANY of us - across ENTIRE globe - bothered with it was when we were 13 or some such age?
What does it really matter, people?
SL is losing its "edge" in real world as a virtuality - let's face it, it's never going to be the answer to education and family vacationing. Shouldn't we be MORE cutting edge and graphic rather than less so? P.S. "Cutting edge" and "Graphic" doesn't mean BDSM necessarily - just unconventional and exciting.
Let's just grow and be normal and be human rather than walk on eggshells around here.

Why slander the Middle Ages? Censorship is alive and well in today's world, all across the globe. We have speech codes in Europe and Canada (and soon in the US, unless someone stands up to the current "liberals" in power). The Middle East is full of repressive regimes. Asia is a hotbed of government control of thought. LL is just joining the crowd.

But this is all to be expected since the historic Anglo Saxon cultures and norms, that brought us the brief liberty we had, have been destroyed by cultural relativism.
