Items that Disappear upon rezzing

Maybe someone can help. I have an item that when I rez it, does not rez where I place it, and yes I am certain it is rezzing. I have tried the zooming way out and highlighting my own objects only but still cannot find it. It wouldnt matter except, a. it is using up prims at the house I am renting and b. there is something attached to it and I am going crazy trying to figure out just what is atached to it. Can anyone suggest a way to find such an item? I am pretty well versed at zooming in and looking inside floors, walls, ceilings, etc for lost items and have tried everything I can think of but for some reason (even flying wayyyyyyy up to see if it bounced up there but to no avail) I cannot find this item. It's driving me crazy, how do I solve this? Thanks very much! I haven't seen this answered so I hope its ok that I am asking. Thanks!

Use an object finder, such as Rika Watanabe's Treasure Hunt Radar (on XStreet SL). I used that to find a lost dance-packed Huddles that had embedded itself in a wall 10m below me on rezzing. It will tell you roughly how far away the item is from you, and you can walk around until you are close to it, then use the 'zoom' feature to place your camera at its exact location.

Do you know what the item is supposed to look like when it's rezzed? I'm wondering whether it has a transparent texture, you can highlight transparent objects from the view menu.

oh it should be solid, I did try the highlight transparent though as well, also looking wayyyyy below where I had rezzed it too. I will take a look on xstreets for the radar however, thanks!

I've had trouble lately when I rez an object. The object eventually appears but sometimes there is a long delay of more than a minute. Also some items have been equally slow to delete.
