A very short question:

Is it possible to upload animated GIF-pics to SL in a way the animation is ahown in SL as well?

if you can use Photoshop, there is a way you can position a number of images into one image that when scripted will run a simple looped animation in SL, when I get in-world if I remember I'll send you a all permissions version so you can play with it, if you really want it, IM to remind me.

Doesn't take Photoshop; you can use any graphics programs, even very simple ones, to simply arrange the frames in a rectangular grid. You use a simple LSL script to specify the number of rows & columns and frame rate, and the rest is automagic.
