When I log in to my home location, it shows an image of me with the top half with textures all screwed up and the bottom half naked. Not exactly what I want showing on my screen for a minute or so. How do I get that to change?

Go to the location where you want your home to be. Make sure what you are seeing on screen is something you can live with for a bit. Then go to World > Set Home To Here and bada boom, new image for "home" logins.

Alternatively you can set your log in location to "last location" and have a different log in screen each time.
You could also go into the Second Life cache folder and replace the "screen_home.bmp" photo with any photo of your choosing, as long as its a .bmp.

You can decide to have your settings log you in at home or last location and also have the location field on your log-in screen so you can log in anywhere.*
If you like a home login picture just save it to somewhere else in yer puter then put it back into the folder (in Doc/Settings/you/app data)** after you reset your home.
You can put in any picture you like as long as it's the same size/format.
Last location obviously uses a picture taken as you log out, but if you crash you will log in with an old screenshot as SL didn't have time to make a new one.
Logging in to a location you write in the blank field then uses your home picture as the screen.
*which is very handy when you have a conflict with the region you are in, also if you can't teleport to a region you can log in there instead **must enable ability to show all folders
