Yet another Search question

I pay the obligatory $30L weekly to have my parcel listed in Search, and for weeks, it has consistently been there.

This morning (and no, not since all of today's SL-BS is occurring, but much earlier), I noticed that suddenly...it doesn't show up, even when you specifically search for Honey's, and my traffic dropped significantly from 1700+ to 248.

Questions:

1. How often are the traffic numbers updated? I thought it was nightly, and I had more people on my property yesterday due to my grand opening party than I ever have.

2. Why would my parcel not be showing up in Search now?? I have it nicely optimized - it should be showing up in several searches, yet it's not.

Did you maybe subdivide or something? That can take away the listing.

Nope.

In fact, I had made absolutely no changes except for adding some new stock yesterday morning, and adding all of the products I carry to search by checking that option.

Never mind, mistook the group result for a places result :o.

It shows up for me in Places and All (Old) but not All (New) although the classifieds is still showing there.

Hi Honey', how you doing?
The new search is hurting a lot of businesses and the numbers you quote for fall-off is happening in a lot of places. It's not a bug with the traffic counting it really is a fall-off as I confirmed it with my records from my visitor counter.
Do me a favour and anyone else who reads this as well. Send feedback to LL about it and push them to get it working correctly. Today, I dropped my L$20,000 weekly ad because since last Tuesday numbers have fallen-off so much. I still have 12 of some the very best creators in SL and in 1 week numbers have fallen by 50%.

Thanks Kitty - maybe what I was seeing this morning was just the very beginning of the problems that everyone else is seeing now.

Hi Ding - doing ok :)

Ouch on the numbers, I think I'd be frantic! Scratch that, I KNOW I'd be frantic!

Unfortunately, I haven't been in any one location long enough (businesswise) to get a really true feel for my numbers, and I suspect that the numbers I'm seeing now as far as traffic are probably correct, and not a carry over from the previous tenant.

The not showing up in Search was more problematic for me at the moment, but I guess I'm there :)

Sending a note off to LL about the search anyway.

Thanks for the report, Dingthat.

The upside is that the Lindens are soliciting feedback. There is a feedback button on the search page itself. (perhaps it's the same link you gave?) And James Linden is reading comments in the forums, and has posted several times in Cristalle's "Would you pay more than 50L" thread.

In your feedback, I would suggest that everyone tell them how much money you stopped putting into your classified ad, and why.

Wow... that's really scary. I would drop a 20k ad too if I couldn't be found.

James posted again this morning, and said that the teleport numbers from the body of new search are not showing up, whereas teleports from the classic search and from featured listings are being counted into the statistics. TP numbers, therefore, may not reflect the true amount of visitors through your ad.

But Honey's problem is also with Search Places.... These issues need to go into the Jira as major, if not already there.
