Uploading an Avatar Mesh?

OK so i've just been trawling thru the SL website when i came accross the "download avatar mesh, you can upload yada yada yada" is this possable, if i upload a new avatar mesh (one to make my avatar look ALOT more realistic) will it apply, if so what format do i need to upload it in.

In the SL viewer there is only "Upload Image" "Upload Sound" and "Upload Animation"
so how do i go about uploading the avatar mesh?

You cant, unfortunately.

The "Downloadable Avatar Mesh" is for use in Poser or other 3D software for creating Animations and uploading the resulting BVH file.
