I just added $25.00 to my account and tried to purchase something and was told I had exceeded my daily limit in Linden Dollars. I go to My Account page and with the exchange rate I have more than enough with $25.00 in American dollars vs. Linden Dollars.
Once I have added the American dollars to my account, do I then have to purchase Linden Dollars? I tried that and got the same message.
It's only $599 Linden dollar item I am trying to purchase.
So confused.
Thanks for any help!

You would not believe how often this comes up and for how long that confusing and poorly designed system has been in place.

You do not really need to add US$ to your account. You can buy L$ directly. Now that you have added US$, you can buy L$ with that money, but as you have noticed, that also counts to your daily limits.

The bad news is you will have to wait. The good news is you will only have to wait one or two days -- I'm not sure what the limits are, but they go up quickly.

If you don't mind putting some money into a second location, you can deposit some US$ into an Xstreet account and buy L$ there. Xstreet is now owned by LL (it is safe), but the same limits do not apply.

https://www.xstreetsl.com/ -- use your SL id/pswd to log in.

Just wait a few days. The first time you use real world money with your account you have a very low limit due to their fraud protection protocols.
This limit rapidly rises.

OK, the limit for the first purchase of L$ is 10 US$ including (!) the 30 Cents, Linden takes for the exchange.

Waiting time is one day, so try again tomorrow to get about 2000 L and it will work.

From week 2 onwards you will have a limit of 100 US$ per day, increasing quite quickly.
