Main map sim image - how often update?

We bought a private island sim from a friend, the lindens re terraformed it and changed its name during transfer, we have since re landscaped it etc etc... however

When we look at it on the main map it still shows the top down image as it was before the transfer took place... eg. the previous lay out, water in its old place, buildings where there once were buildings, how come?? how often is the map updated? the transfer took place a week ago..... it looks bad

Map images get updated on a very irregular schedule. Several weeks usually pass before an update and sometimes it is several months.

I seem to be on a 2 week schedule now...it used to be once a week. LL must be cutting costs.
