When I went to SL5B, I noticed on Map there were sims titled Burning Man I think,
any word on this event?
Maybe it's just me, but I haven't seen or heard any *new* info.

I think the sims You saw were staged there for this years Burning Life. Google brings up 2 official burning life sites...neither have much info about this years event though.

Well I'm confused, they had it? They will have it? SL5B over shadowed it? My artist friends usually keep me abreast but, w/ the past bad press and conflicts, most have ditched the interest in the event. Skimming the blog I never saw anything mentioned, but may have missed any refs to this years.

Gosh I hope We didn't miss it =/ I do not remember any mention of an 08 Burning Life. I do remember seeing the Sims just below SL5B. I wonder if those were 2007's just hanging around still.
I am sure we will be informed a few minutes before the entry deadline. =)

burning man is all about no censorship, maybe after SL5B, the Lindens realise it would be inconceivable to promote an event that abhors dictatorship and allows nipples?

Burning Life 08 will be held in late September. You haven't missed it, and there's not much out there about it yet because we're still in the planning phases. Keep an eye on vburn.org, that's the official site.
