What do I charge?

Hello,
Someone wishes to hire me to do a build for them but I have absolutely no idea about what to charge for my services as I have never done this before. Can anyone tell me if there's a 'going rate' for building work, and are there any tips for costing up?

are you building a chair or a house? is the chair animated, is the house small enough to fit on a 512 M2 plot or on a 1/4 SIM? Are you making textures specifically for the project? What are your credentials? Etc. Etc. Etc.

How long is a piece of string?

It really depends what works for you. Some people might charge by the hour, in which case you have to try and value your time, do you own a business for example? What kind of money could you be making if you spent your time on something else? How difficult is the work for you? How high-quality would you consider your build?

Other people may charge by project, as Dekka Raymaker mentions you would charge by size etc. in that case.

It's a difficult thing to work out, 'fraid I can't offer more than that. Perhaps you could try searching for people who do custom builds and see if they have notecards with a rough idea of pricing?

It will be a club 30x30, fully fitted out with scripts/animations, custom furniture and I am making custom textures for it. The animations will not be mine, but I will be putting together the poseballs etc.
I'll go & check out some prices in world as suggested. Unfortunately, I have the world's worst financial brain - probably why I usually just build for pleasure!
