I cant upload images for some reason.... Select file to upload, hit OK, and BANG instant client crash. I've cleared my cache a few times, cleared temp files, uninstalled and reinstalled
my client twice, done everything I can possibly think of and no help. What makes it even
worse, is every time I crash, I have to sit around and wait for a while to log back in.

Anyone else having this problem or know what I can do to fix it?

System specs?

Are all your drivers up to date?

Maybe try logging in to a different location. It's a long shot, but perhaps there's just something bad going on in the particular sim where you're trying to log in at the moment.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

anyone else still experiencing problems?

I am not able to rez anything, so I cleared cache, and now I am ruthed and relogging doesn't seem to help.

going to try logging into a different sim see if that helps...

add to this, that the support page is not loading for me either (already waiting for about 2 minutes blank page says loading)

logged into lime o longer ruthed...
flew to plum, (build enabled land) was able to rez somethng there, so must be my home sim)

blah

guess time to request a sim restart now that the support page finally loaded

Edited to add, got a hold of support they are restarting the sim
I would suggest if you are still having issues to contact support

Vladimus, This ever get resolved?
03-14-2008 04:05
Vladimus asked for help on a very spicific problem that is near and dear to my heart. I have a friend that has not been able to upload at all for several weeks now, same senario that Vladimus described. Although there were several posts here, no one was able to adress his spacific problem. Anyone out there have a good answer? Vladimus, did you ever get this resoulved, and if so what was the cure?

Thanks, Evets

Welcome to the Forums!

I snooped around the jira a bit, and have a couple questions: what image file format is being used, and are we sure the file extension matches the file format? (Like... well, "clothes" so I assume a valid Targa file, with a .tga extension, right?) Also, which viewer, and does the image upload work despite the crash? (There's an open report of crashing on *successful* image uploads with the 1.20 RC series--although I've used the RC for image uploads without a problem.)

Kian, also check your video drivers. Yes, sounds silly, but the video drivers seem to adversely affect uploads too. In one case I had years ago, updating the video driver solved my crashing.

Hi there,

Has anyone found a "cure" for Vladimus' problem? I'm experiencing the same thing as of today. Have never had a problem uploading images, and had been doing so all week, but this morning, everytime I try, I crash. I hit the "upload file" option, the little window pops up as if it's going to let me select a file to upload, but then it just hangs there for a sec and, poof, I crash. This is extremely frustrating as I own a business in SL and was hoping to release a new product today... can't do that if I can't upload! :( This is not limited to my region, as I signed on one of my alts in a different location, and experienced the same crash. I've cleared my cache, uninstalled-reinstalled SL... I'm pretty sure my drivers are up-to-date (I believe Windows updates them automatically). I'm running Windows XP and the official release of the SL viewer. Can anyone please offer any help at all? I'm really quite livid at this point and ready to throw in the towel on SL. :(

Thanks,

Ianni

You could try doing a system restore to a time earlier in the week when things were working.

If you haven't completely powered off everything in your computer system, the computer, modem, router, etc. then you might try that.

Clear your sl cache.

Do a complete uninstall and reinstall of SL.

Try a different version of SL. Try the beta grid version - you won't be able to use what you upload, so don't spend much time on it, but if it works there but not in the regular client, that's information.

Try some of the Nicholaz viewers.

I had an upload failure last night, the upload charged me ten lindens, and there's a texture in inventory with the right name, but it's gray.

I've just been a cloud for several hours. SL seems to not be working well.

Ianni, I've had problems every day since Thursday. Although the SL Status Page listed the issue as "closed" mid-day Thursday, performance has been rough.

I had a rush order for a customer Thursday afternoon and couldn't get a texture to upload. I relogged into a low-lag Linden sim, Cyclops, and it loaded.

Other times, after a failure to upload a texture, I was able to upload successfully when I tried again about a half-hour later.

Getting search and TPs to work has been hit-and-miss. Keep trying. I know it's frustrating when you have something important to accomplish. Good luck.

I have that can not upload problem every once and a while. When I do, I walk into the next region to upload. Then I cross the border again to get back to work.

I sometimes crash when trying to upload. At that point only a cache clear seems to fix it.

i have this problem as well. the only fix i have found is to use a different viewer for all my uploads. try using an older client, or a first look client or whatnot. chances are good that this will work for you.
