Ok … I believe that I have a phantom object on my land. Last night I was rezzing stuff from my inventory to check it out. I rezzed an aquarium that I built sometime ago … but SL decided to have it’s daily lag storm, at this same time that I was trying to ‘take the object’. Noting happened,,, was unable to select the object. So I rebooted my SL view and the object was gone … I thought. But now when I walk in that same area I hit the object ,,, but I cant see it, like it’s invisible. Is there anyway to be able to see this ‘phantom’ object so I can delete it. Btw I’ve tried wireframe mode .. but seen nothing.
TIA

If you hit it but can't see it, it's transparent and not phantom. Press ctrl-alt-t. You'll be able to see any transparent objects in red.

Occasionally you can hit or walk over things that don't show up as transparent, but they disappear on their own. No idea what causes it though.

welcome to the wonderfull world of the dead, you have a haunting and only a sim restart can remove the ghosts

if the item didn`t appear back in inventory, consider it lost if it was no copy :(

are you saying a sim restart from the owner of the estate/sim .. or one of those SL rolling restarts?

any restart aslong the sim is restarted, island = owner, mainland = LL(good luck with that...)

Before the restart, you might want to take a peek at location 0,0,0 of the sim.. I haven't seen this problem in a while but things used to get stuck there visibly but still be at their 'correct' location as far as the sims collision math was concerned.

If it is there, try to take/return/move it, _before_ the restart..
