I have a friend who has wireless connection.. and keeps crashing out of sl on the normal veiwer.. what is the least laggy viewer which she might be able to stay online with? Emerald was always too laggy for me as I am on a laptop.. please give me some names of alternate viewers and links where to get them ... thanks

They want anything based off of 1.18. The official one can be downloaded in prior versions (just set the --channel argument) or a lot of alternate viewers (like Nikolaz) maintain a version on the 1.18 code base.
BTW, wireless may be the source of the problems right there with any version of SL. It is not quite the same thing as a wired connection so does not always work.

1.18? The Cool Viewer maintains versions of 1.19 (the last pre-windlight viewer) which I've found very good when I've had to use lower spec machines than normal. Linux and Windows at http://sldev.free.fr/, Mac at http://hyangreflections.blogspot.com/. Boy Lane's various Windows versions at http://my.opera.com/boylane/blog/ are all worth a look, too.

It would help if we knew their computer specs, but in general...The Cool Viewer 1.19 is fabulous. I use it and it it really is great...also..the Nicholaz Bleeding Edge viewer works off of 1.18 with voice, while his Old School works off of LL's 1.18 non voice viewers, both are also highly recommended as well by this luddite. Also note, while based on "old" LL viewers, they all have current security updates.

Wish I could find a place to change the time out values.
Wireless = latency.
This is due to burst processing and transmitting.
