Industry

Are there trade organizations for the various industries that we have in SL? Should we have them? Would they even be possible? Are you worried that such a group would become too exclusive and elitist?

I think more organization would be useful. If all clothing store owners, maybe even just a subset like shoe sellers, got together and discussed the state of their industry and maybe pooled resources to better advertise themselves and creat awareness . Maybe help identify product theft and compare pricing.

This could be applied to any group of course. Even non-store groups. Do we need more resident created organizations like this?

The Zindra Alliance is, in effect, a trade organization, is it not?

Certainly activist groups are organized somewhat along these lines: there tends to be a lot of overlap in membership, so it's not difficult, often, to function in unison.

There are quite a few groups like that, Bree - - it's just really hard to find them with the group search tool. It seems to be less than effective. I think if you pull up some popular creators' profiles, you will see some examples.

I've recently found that the "elitist" term is used here, merely to describe someone who has an opposing business philosophy (in other words, incorrectly).....so actually prefer exclusive and elitist now.
