where can a person find the free version of mystitool?
will it ward off this?:
"someone is holding a black ball in their hand, and in open chat it says "slash" / and different channel numbers until one works and I get logged out of SL to a grey screen"
if so, what do i need to do to activate this barrier?

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Blumfield/24/148/297It's just inside the shop, on the windowsill, on the right. No, it doesn't ward off "magic spells" or whatever. I think there is some missing information about that black ball device, that is, the stuff in chat probably doesn't have much to do with whatever the actual attack is. Nearly every scripted attack can be nullified by simply sitting on a prim.

thank you, Viktoria. this occurs while sitting on a prim.
we've AR'd it but LL doesn't seem to find punishing griefers using de-sitting scripts all that important.

Are you wearing any attachments when this happens?

Do you have an Nvidia graphics card 3Ring?
A couple of years ago there were some illegal sized textures that were uploaded to SL using libsl. It was actually pretty cool while it lasted. You could make a "bomb" with a timer and llSetTexture to bring the texture up on a prim. Found yourself surrounded by greifers? Rez it, TP out and come back in a moment to find a mostly empty sandbox. Anyone with an Nvidia graphics card who was within draw distance crashed immediately. LL pulled all of those textures from the asset server. I awoke one day to find it missing from inventory.
Wondering if someone has found another illegal size and injected it into SL?

I don't think the Mystitool free version has this feature; but in the full version there is something called a Non-Physical Vehicle. Once activated it looks like a glowing blue orb and you step into it, at which time it is invisible. It stops just about every kind of attack, but not sure about the one you described. Another great feature is it lets you walk through walls The best time I utilized the Non-Physical Vehicle was when some noob was "letting it all hang out" and kept saying "Want sex?" I didn't say a word, stepped into my NPV and watched while noob kept banging (no pun intended) into the invisible bubble around me.

Yes, that one is in the freebie, but the only protection it offers is what you get from sitting on a plain prim. The movement stuff is neat, but you can do the same thing with the viewer's built-in edit tools.

I still like the sheer hilarity of the noob guy trying to throw himself against me (or bump me) and kept getting deflected by the invisible orb.

I'm just guessing but I think they are suggesting that you check the attachments to make sure there is not a script in one of them that may be causing the trouble.

The script that's doing the "slash"ing might be targeting particular attachments with a known problem, or might be sending messages with content that due to a flaw in LSL and or SL causes a crash on a series of channels until it reaches one that is being listened to by an attached item. At least I think this might be so.
Can you get the name of the black ball, who it's made by, or otherwise identify it or the scripts inside it?
I do seem to recall scripts thats could crash other users by sending text that was too big, although the exact problem I'm somewhat remembering has to have been mostly fixed or we'd all be acutely aware of it by now.
Can they crash you if you aren't wearing attachments? What are the attachments?
What viewer are you using?

i have this staff called staff of mages..One of the neatest spells is called holy or something like that..it's been a while since i used it...
the animation is amazing and the particles it puts out are amazing too..
it lifts you up in the air stretching your arms out to your sides like Moses parting the red see plus arches your back like you are calling to the gods..then spins you around as this ring of white flame forms a circle on the ground under you..then above you explosions of bursting white flames blowing in like a hurricane type wind in the direction you were aiming..
the scripts for the attack were outdated but it looked really neat and very distracting before clicking to sit.. it was one of the neatest toys i bought so far..
you can tp with it and all kinds of things..it was sort of like a multi tool but also you could battle with it in the sims it was made for..i'm gonna have to see if it's still around..i'm sure it's long over due for an update..

There's this one penis attachment that listens to commands on a random channel... if someone has a device that chats "erect" on a channel spammer..you never know what might pop up.

The OP's complaint is about being logged out of SL, if I'm reading "I get logged out of SL to a grey screen" correctly, not about a deformer animation.

I was asking the OP specifically about the person they described, not just anyone about griefers in general. Their complaint was about being logged out of SL - which I would take it to mean having the viewer quit running in some fashion.

I used to get the grey screen when I blundered into the sandboxes that had been griefed with the giant twisted animated mega prims. I belive it was a GFX card overload that caused it. The only defense for me was to tp away within seconds, or it was relog time
