I deeded my property to a group. It already had some nice landscaping on it, so I set the options to no return for other resident's items. Then, in a brain-frozen moment, I changed it to auto-return 30 minutes. Whoosh! EVERYTHING on the land vanished! ( I think it reappeared consolidated in my Lost and Found Folder. I tried to rez two of the consolidated items. It said I didn't have permission to rezz them, and they vanished again. This time it seems they are truly gone - not in trash, not in Lost and Found. Any suggestions, or do I just resign myself to landscaping again from scratch? Thanks, Rhiannon

The message about not having permission to rez them is probably because some part of the coalesced object was on somebody else's parcel, with build permission turned off. (Well... unless you didn't have the group active while rezzing on your own parcel and it was still set no-create.) The problem is that the objects retain their same positions relative to each other, and any one of them may be the "root" of the coalesced object, so there's no telling where to point when rezzing it. So, generally, it's best to find a large, empty sandbox and rez coalesced items in the middle of that, at some altitude, and pick up the pieces from there.
As for why they aren't in your Lost & Found folder... dunno. I'd try clearing cache and relogging... and maybe checking the Objects folder, too, just in case. They really should be in Lost & Found.

I had my manager return several rent boxes to me last night. Kept getting the notices that they were being sent to my L&F folder....and not a single one was in there!
I'm thinking L&F may be borked.

I did try clearing cache and relogging. My items still didn't turn up. What I haven't tried yet is to delete the cahce folder, log in to an empty sim, and restart the inventory sort again. I will try that before I give up. If there is a Lost and found issue, I would put in a ticket. Anyone else having Lost and found issues?

A good freind of mine who owns nearly a full mainland sim did the same thing albeit a 10 minute return. 10 minutes later around 99% of the builds were returned. He was gutted. it was'nt quite a full sim and mainland so could'nt be rolled back. From what I remember objects deeded to "The Group" belong to that group NOT the original owner,so when they get returned they are lost as the group does'nt have an inventory. It was a costly mistake as a small comunity was living in the sim and lots of deeded things were lost.

Group-deeded doesn't mean "lost" when returned, it'll just go into the lost and found of the last avie owner (unless it was NT for the group in which case the prims go to prim heaven/hell).

Your summary is bullet proof,I agree that should be the way of things. What actually happened is a different tale. Maybe the servers were having a bad day. All the same it was a shame for the people that lost property. It does appear that some good came of it. The sim was a joint effort between 3 RL freinds and some 10 hours and 2 bottles of scotch later it was mostly rebuilt

That's what I was afraid of. /me resigns herself to repurchasing and remaking EVERYTHING! Thanks to all of you for the information.
