Lost Chim (dance machine) Help anyone?

Sorry for another lost objects thread, but I've tried all the voodoo I know of with no success. Yesterday I crashed in the middle of attaching a chim (chimera dance machine). When I logged back in it was gone.

So far I've tried:

Checking the area where I was, in case it fell off.
Searching inventory, including Lost & Found, Trash, Objects, the folder where it should be etc. I know the item name, so it should show up regardless of where it is anyway.
Clear Cache and relogging in a quiet area.
Clear Cache and relogging where I lost it.
Using a different client.
<<edit>> Also looked around for it with highlight transparent, looked for blue blobs on the mini-map indicating stuff I own, and inside the prim I was standing on at the time.

Nothing so far. Sod's Law dictates that it had to be the single most expensive item I owned, stuffed as it was with SineWave dances. If anyone has a good suggestion, please help.

why not just say you were at the damn cartel hangout

this "place that shall not be named" is getting old... quickly... and annoying... always feels like a jab at those of us who were not entirely happy with that one specific thread that pertained to the cartel hangout...

why snub us like that?

(I feel like it is a personal jab against me cuz I spoke out)
ever since then, ppl use that damn expression and it is highly annoying

as for the chim, if you lost it when you crashed chances are it is gone

you can ask those who have the ability, to check the land info at the hangout and see if it shows you own anything there, also check the 0,0,X location in that sim look way underground just to be sure

if all else fails send in a bug report...
then consider it gone

Kelli, a few weeks ago, I somehow managed to lose a HUD there, and someone found it (thanks, Lindal)...in one of the couches...maybe it's lurking somewhere? maybe under the floor?

Definitely try to get a Linden to help you. They have available a utility they can run which might return that item to your inventory. It's different from just clearing your cache. Be persistent until you find someone to help you.

If you set the UI to slect only your objects, you should be able to zoom out and click-drag select the whole hangout area. If it's there it will show up. You can do the same thing at Allana (0,0,0)

Good luck.

If I do this to look for something and the item is stuck inside of a wall, I assume it would get selected, but will I actually be able to see the selection unless I know to pan inside the wall? Curious as to how the hilights work in that case.

I didn't intend it to be a snub, and I'd no idea there was that sort of feeling about referring to it like that. I never read the post where you spoke out, so it's certainly not aimed at you. However, I have to say your sharp reaction does nothing to endear me to your cause. Politeness costs nothing.

I do apologise for the terse msg, however it is a very touchy subject for me
did you ever ask yourself why ppl use the expression?

use it if you must.

(I am sorry it was you I snapped at, however it was not directed at you, only at your choice of words, if that makes sense)
I do not know you, so have nothing against you as a person... I prolly could have found a better way to word it without it sounding like an attack, however I am not known for being smart so... that being said... how about I say it like this...

your choice of words sting when you use them, instead of saying the place that shall not be named (which started being used because some of us felt it was unfair that folks would post here about the hangout, when others would be reprimanded for posting about their clubs and such) try saying the actual name of the place.
I might be the only one who finds it offending... or I might be the only one who dares to say anything...

I just wish people would stop using it.

PS I have a feeling if I removed the 2 "damn" words from my post it would not seem as impolite...

OK, you can put down the popcorn Yosef, I've no intention of making this the Friday thread *grins*

I honestly had no idea the term was anything other than a cute in-joke. Good for you for speaking out on that, Rhaorth. I rather it hadn't been phrased like a personal attack, but I'll hold no hard feelings. Thanks btw for the 0,0,0 coordinates idea, I'd forgot that can be a dumping ground for lost junk.

Good for you for speaking out on that, Rhaorth.

I disagree. I think Rhaorth would be a happier person if she'd stop assuming every little thing she takes exception to is a personal attack on her. I don't know whether it's paranoia or ego, but it's not always about her.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

ann it is not always about me... I just think it is stupid to be using that phrase, it is annoying and yes it does feel like a snub.
why do you think it is a bad thing to speak out when something bothers someone?
that is what your disagreeing with kelli seems to say... that maybe I should just keep quiet and let things bother me, instead of saying something and then finding out that it is not meant the way I assumed. (how do you know what will make me happier... or for that matter if I am a happy person or not) as I stated before, the persona on the forums is not the same as the me in general everyday life
*sigh*

maybe I am the only one who wants to say anything because others might be afraid of being attacked if they say anything (just as you are doing now... was there any need to assume I am either paranoid or have a big ego and that I make it all about me?)

If I wanted to make it all about me I would start a thread all about me...

I could have used better words and for that I apologized, however if something bugs me I will say something (and this is the not the first time I have said anything about it either)

you are welcome kelli, good luck finding the chim

(I too do not plan to make this into the friday thread so on that note I am gonna back out and explore the texturing forums cuz I am stuck on something and need help)

It wasn't an attack, it was an observation.

I've seen you, on a number of occasions, pull out the 'personal attack' card when the poster(s) likely hadn't been thinking of you at all. In fact, your initial reaction to Kelli's post was an excellent example of that.

I didn't call you paranoid or egotistical, I just offered them up as possibilities for your behavior. You frequently assume posts are malicious and aimed at you when they absolutely aren't...what would you call that?

As for mentioning things which bother you, of course you have that right. I just don't see how a joke about a place has any bearing on you, especially when most of the people who use it don't remember the specifics of how it got started.

I don't dislike you, Rhaorth, it just bothers me to see you accuse people of unkind motives they don't have.
