How do I restore the client's use of SL time in the time field within the group announcements? The client (LL, Emerald, Coolview, others that I've tried but can't remember) presently supplies a posting time for each announcement. Once upon a time, it displayed the posting time as Second Life time, but now displays it as GMT, which means I have to do arithmetic in my head for each, particularly at login when there are several to read. Is it in the list of client parameters in the Advanced >> Debug menu, and if so, where?
And if you know, why was it changed? I've meant to ask about this for months, but have forgotten, until now.

I would like to know this too. GMT is not helpful at all when everything in SL is calculated against SL time.

It's a bug, VWR-13378. "Group notices on Release Candidate 1.23.1 are coming through with the timestamp set to GMT."
For a long time (since 2007ish?) the times were set to the user's local time, which many also viewed as a bug. But now they appear to be GMT for everyone. And yes, Snowglobe and Emerald etc. are all based on 1.23.4, so they will have it.
The brand-new viewer should be released sometime relatively soon. We'll have to see if they carried forward enough of the old viewer code to still have bugs like this; they certainly won't be fixing much in the old codebase now. .
