Got myself a new graphic card the best AGP one around they say. Before my PC as got Windows XP going the monitor picture cuts out and reports no input and goes to sleep.
Putting the Nvidia card back in all is well with the PC.

So put the Radeon HD3850 into another PC and it works fine.
To me this says first PC is OK and the card is ok too.

Any ideas please?

First PC has a Gigabytes GA-K8VM800M motherboard and a 450w PSU.
Second PC has an ASUS P5P800-SE motherboard and a 400W psu.

GC Nvidia 7000 series and Nvidia 6000 series respectivly.

Thanks, Joe

Go into device manager and remove the Nvidia display adapters.
Shutdown and install the ATI card.
Boot up, install the drivers for the ATI card and delete any folders the Nvidia drivers left behind.
Reboot and all should be golden.

No sorry did not work.

It runs ok in Safe Mode have only been able to set in Control Panel/Display to 1400x1000 in Monitor it does not say the monitor name etc. it says Default monitor.
It does not fail to output in Safe Mode.

Normal running it fails after a few minutes and monitor reports no input.

Prior to failure I get a warning that it has low resolution of 800x600
The monitor wants 1680x1050 w/s.

I have tried another monitor and the output also fails to it.

Regards
Joe
