Heh, good point. :o

Question:

With so many on line, how is performance for you?

Sim crossings in a fast travelling boat are a little choppy and there is the odd region where performance is tanking for inexplicable reasons, but as things go SL seems to be holding up comparatively well under the load.

We could be in Borg Life, where when you say the users are half bots, you mean each user is half bot.

We could all actually be bots in RL programmed to think we were humans playing a game called SL that has some bots but the bots in SL are actually the real humans and we are actually just observing instead of controlling.

I remember when the server struggled with over 30K online and that border chopping would be horrible. If 30K were online now, lag would be Zero.

Speaking of which, did you see the story about the robot that plays "Guitar Hero"?

We see a screen like the one at the beginning. Matrix code appears as Neo bot begins to speak. A box which says system failure appears on the screen.

Neobot: I know you're out there...I can feel you now. I know that

you're afraid. You're afraid of us, you're afraid of

change...I don't know the future...I didn't come here to

tell you how this is going to end, I came here to tell you

how this is going to begin. Now, I'm going to hang up

this phone, and I'm going to show these people what you

don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world

without you...a world without rules and controls, without

borders or boundaries. A world...where anything is

possible.

We travel down a phone line, as we see that Neobot is in a phone box.

Neobot: Where we go from there...is a choice I leave to you...

Neobot hangs up the phone, as he steps out of the phone booth, and puts on his sunglasses.
He looks around the street for a moment, and then flies off.

Neobot will save those bots i just feel it!!

In SL Matrix, the green text appears gray for five to ten minutes. Longer than you spend reading it.

Very, very cool but all of that clicking and clacking would drive me nuts. I just wonder if they used Autoit to catch the pixels on the screen. It isn't actually that hard to do and you would only have to monitor 5 pixels then just send it through something like X-10.

Of course the idea to do something to begin with is 90 percent of the creative process so hats off to the person.

Just caught up reading new posts since I made reply about Guitar Hero video.

First thing that comes to mind is that we all really do need to get a life :p
I miss the good old days when the only two things I worried about on a Saturday night were which drugs to do and who I would have sex with.

Well, it's obviously more important to have good traffic at your store than have customers be able to TP in or transactions working :P
