Hi, can anyone tell me if the Nvidia 175.19 drivers for the 8000 and 9000 series cards are the same for a given OS? In other words can I use a driver for a 8600 GT with a 9800 GT? I ask because I am thinking of upgrading, but can't find a 175.19 driver for the 9800 GT.

They're not the same. You won't find a 175 driver for that model, sadly. I have the same one, that model is only supported with the later drivers.

Second that. While some of the older cards once used the same software, the 9000 series is a whole new critter and needs different drivers.

Ok, thanks. I guess I'll hold off upgrading until the issues with the newer drivers is taken care of.

The latest release candidate supposedly has better support for the 177 series drivers. You might want to give that a whirl. 177.92 is available for the 9800GT.
