I am posting this in the hope that someone will find the photo below half as edifying as was the process of creating the subject.

I decided to do my part to beautify SL this week, and bought one of those godawful little 16M plots beside the road!

:)

Because of the new adfarm rules this plot was empty and marked down to $299L but it was raised to maximum height - in boxy, un-natural contrast to the surrounding residential yard. I returned it to flush with the surroundings and set about to add a splash of art to the vacinity.

I did not buy this plot to gain prims, I bought it for the sake of beauty. In fact, I have fewer prims now than before because a 16m plot supports 2p, yet I placed more than 20p on it in the prusuit of artistic expression.

Here for your consideration is my work.

How'd I do?

It's great, but needs context. I'm not sure what that could be though.

It was a freebie. The last I knew they were being passed around like water, so I suppose maybe it is the one you are taling about.

Am I not supposed to have one? That would make it kinda an 'open secret' - considering they were being freely/openly distributed/discussed/photographed/laughed about in forums and groups not long ago. Am I supposed to feel ashamed? Were we all supposed to destroy them? Only rez it in my closet?

It doesn't work for me.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and many people would not want some so-called art forced on them. I wouldn't like to have that next to my place, for instance.

Does artwork come with you upside down too?
Is it mega prims?
I find it hilarious and cute idea personally but some may find it
tacky.
There is a whole of worse things out there on those small lots
that are big giant eye sores, yours is just amusing.
I make artwork that I get lot of nice comments but rarely see
a dime for it but I enjoy creating most of time and while money
is nice I am not willing to sell my soul or inner peace to get it if
I am meant to have it come when I am ready for it.
There is saying whatever you call Art is Art be it pee and crucifix in
vial, painted toilet seat or toilet on display on gallery's walls.
There is lot of Art out there that Artist and buyers of Art in the Art community calls Artwork some sells for thousand of real dollars that I wouldn't want to own or reproduce personally..
Oh well each to their own, I am not in place to judge it is cute idea though.
I have thought of at one point buying several and putting my hand drawn
flowers for sell for 20L or something like that but I never got around to it and wasn't
sure if really was worth it.

the creator sells the noob sculpt for L$49 so if you got it for free you probably have a stolen one.

If you were a good boy and respected intellectual property rights, yes. I got one, and deleted it (regretfully) when I found out it was stolen goods. You can buy a legitimate version from the creator.

My interpretation of your art: "Death of An Adfarmer".

Aside from philosophical considerations I am going with tacky here - you might be interested to know I don't care for Picasso either- so that might make the originator of the piece in "good" company.

Since we are talking about The Boss on another thread, this reminds me of "Cadillac Ranch"

Can someone please tell me where I can get a legitimate noob sculpt? I've done some searching and found a couple but I don't know who the true creator is. Thanks.

I like it!

A perfect artistic statement, well balanced composition, and it tells a somewhat different story to everyone who perceives it. That's art in my book!

Hugsy, It's available on one of the rezzable islands, will post the link later. There are two versions, one in the change appearance pose, which for some reason is L$99.
