Hey Folks,
I'm coming here in sheer desparation. I've tried and tried to edit my profile picks to no avail for weeks now. I'm supposed to be able to set a new location ... *BUZZER* Wrong. I'm supposed to be able to delete one pick and add another in its place ... *BUZZER* Wrong. I keep ending up with my first 4 picks times 2, the old and the new. PLEASE can someone offer advice or can the Lindens please fix this bug that has plagued me for weeks? Thanks in advance

Are you pressing the OK button at the bottom of your profile - or simply hitting the X in the corner?
And, it sometimes takes a day for changes to take effect. Make, yer change, hit OK - and don't muck with it till the next day. Plus, there's lot of server weirdness going on atm, I'd expect things to be a bit buggy in that dept.
But I added a pick, and changed my profile pic, yesterday - and they stuck. No prob.

thanks ... I am hitting the OK button and I am aware there has been server wierdness the past couple of days, but this has been going one for more than a few months ... I was being tactful by saying a few weeks.

possibly a corrupt cache file? a cache dump would be my next step. after that a complete uninstal and reinstal.

Turn off View Admin Options...
It prevents you from editing your picks for some reason.

From: Dante Tucker Turn off View Admin Options...
It prevents you from editing your picks for some reason. Would that apply to my inability to delete things from Picks? I am able to delete them, and they go away, but they the next time I log in, they are all back again. This has been a problem for about a month. I guess clearing cache might be next?

Dante's advice to turn off "view Admin options" allowed me to delete the picks permanently (I think!). I have since turned them back on, but do I really need too? How often does the average user really need those commands?
Thanks, Dante!

Thanks, Dante! You need to have the Admin menu visible if you happen to be on Help Island (not the Public ones, the ones where the noobs check in) and want to edit anything. It's a bug.

Turning on admin options will allow you to send tp requests to people who are only visible to their friends. That is the only reason to keep that feature on, IMO, other than the above-referenced bug on HI.

And it allows those of us that like to break the rules to fly in no-fly areas.
