OK so a few weeks ago, I bought what looks like a dodge Viper convertible...I got it to function properly once...the day I bought it. After that it seems to refuse to rez properly. There are 3 parts to set up, the frame, the body and the HUD. But no matter what combination I set them up as...it is no go. The closest I get is when I am looking at the tail end (bumper) of the car...not a good vantage point when your trying to drive it...any one out there have any success with it? And how? (I did read the vague instructions).

I have yet to take Claire for a joy ride in it, and it depresses me when I think about it.

Is it just not rezzing or is it a camera angle issue? If a camera angle issue: 1) go to mouselook; 2) click on the vehicle when it is rezzed - some have menus that change the camera angle; 3) play with resetting the camera distance - play with your preferences menu - the "Camera Options:" one - increase decreas the number in that box (depending on the viewer you are using).

Not sure if this will help, but last time he tried to rez it while I was there it came up with a script error symbol hovering above the chassis. Nothing else rezzed.
Dunno if there has been any progress since then Graph, but I thought I might just throw that in incase it helps.

I really hope you have tried rezzing it in more than one place :) There are certain things, like no script land, that will cause trouble :)

Ouch, vehicles can be an expensive thing to lose or not be able to use, depending on which you purchased. If all else fails it wouldnt hurt to contact the creator and see if they can help. Good luck and enjoy that joy ride when you finally get to have it!

This sounds like a permissions error on the objects in the contents of the car. They were probably set up as no-copy, instead of copy. Causing them to rez and disappear from the inventory of the car. After taking the car back to inventory and rerezzing, it will try to rez the non-existent parts in inventory, causing the scripting error.

Check if the specific items are still in the contents of the car. If not, check if the car you're rezzing is the -original- car you bought. Almost all vehicles are copyable, and the original one you bought should still function correctly.
Remember to simply -delete- it after using it, as taking it back to inventory will produce (another) non-working version.

If the car was no-copy, and the contents are gone. Contact the creator/seller. And ask for one with the correct permissions inside ;)
