Where Is The General Discussion Forum?

Some mod just closed a thread suggesting there are numerous
forums here that are suitable for general discussion mentioning
Resident Sites. Well Resident Sites is not a general discussion.

So I'm a resident and I'd like an answer: Where Is the General
Discussion forum here?

This forum isn't for general discussion; there are many Resident Sites where this discussion is appropriate — Resident Answers is for Resident-to-Resident help. I'll close this thread...

He refers to the Third party Forums Column, where you may select your venue for general Discussion. LL discontinued their general Discussion Forums because of repeated abuses Including Trolling, Flame wars, Slanderous Instances of "Naming Names", Coarse language Spamming and other General Misuses of their hospitality. Some General Discussion Does take place in Resident Answers but Only as long as it remains within the definition of response to an Asked Question. If it Strays Too far over the Line, the Mods redirect it, or Close it (With or Without Referral to Linden review). The Mods Try to Interfere as Little as Possible, But they DO have a responsibility to maintain order on the Forums.

There is no General Discussion forum; if there was one, the moderator would have moved a misplaced post into it.

There used to be a General Discussion forum. People misused it to engage in personal attacks, to promote their political views, to start religious arguments, to accuse other residents of crimes, to upset people whose posts suggested they had severe emotional problems, to mock, belittle, and humiliate people that they felt, perhaps accurately, weren't very intelligent.

People who want to to shoot the breeze can make a bookmark to sluniverse.com or many other SL related forum sites.

When you go to forums.secondlife.com you can see all the forums that aren't SL group forums, and a brief description of what they are. Some of the forums have sticky posts inside visible at the top of the thread list describing what content is appropriate in that forum in greater detail.

I have been to the link that Strif posts about 4 or 5 times and can't find a general discussion forum there and a few of the links don't even work. I really wanted to ask Strife about it, but after a thread is locked I cant. So Strife, where exactly is this general discussion forum you keep telling us to go to? Yes, you Can actually, Just click on his name, Choose to PM him, and when you do Private message him, Reference the title of the Thread you want Clarification on. He is always willing to respond.

Just remember though, be polite and reasonable. NOBODY will respond posatively to a hail of abuse, so if you have a Valid point you Only hurt yourself by "Losing it" or "Venting".
