XStreet reliability

Since some days, well, since LL took over, I have the impression that XStreet tends to perform worse then before.

I now frequently see page load timeouts on the web page and misdelivery notices (both when I buy and as a seller). Yesterday, when buying something, I even received a misdelivery notice and the money back *after I received the item!*

Am I the only one who gets the feeling that reliability at XStreet is going downhill?

Quite odd, as nothing on xstreet's side has changed from the buyout. Same staff running it, on the same servers, in the same place.

Most likely any issues are due to it having much more visitors becuase of LL advertising it constantly.

About 25 percent of my deliveries are failing. But it started at least a week before the takeover, so I don't think that is the cause.

At their suggestion, I now have boxes on a private estate and on the mainland, but the problem persists.

I can only hope that it improves soon.

i think people may be paying it more attention than before..i'm not saying there are not new problems or anything like that.
But when LL touches something people seem to really look a lot closer..

myself i have had more transaction problems in the past before LL took over..but i know it happens and will again..
i think for myself i have worries of how long it is going to take to fix those transaction problems now compared to before..
i won't know that till it happens hehehehe
but so far no bad transactions since the take over for me anyways..

Hmmm... that might explain why I got a message about a delivery and then sometime later got a message about a delivery failure the other day. When I checked my balance, I hadn't gotten a payment relating to the first supposed delivery. They were two hours apart. I'm guessing they were related to the same purchase attempt, it's really hard to tell from the information given and I couldn't find any reference to either in my account on Xstreet. This is even with having two boxes out in different sims...

On the up side, I have started getting a lot more sales on Xstreet since LL took over. This really surprised me. I thought just about everyone already knew it was an option.

I've been seeing the same thing. Personally, I think their system is overwhelmed at the moment as every content creator in SL is uploading their wares. Just looking at the item number from something I put up a couple months ago to the stuff I put up yesterday it looks like over 100k items have been listed since the big announcement. I also think now that more people are aware of it, they are shopping there as well. I can see my daily traffic has doubled since the announcement as well.

Item # of something I listed Dec 08 1062666
Item # of something I listed two weeks ago 1207509
Item # of something I listed yesterday 1230209

I'm a buyer on XStreet... not a seller. I've been using it a lot in the past few weeks and have made about a dozen purchases. I have not had one issue with a single one.

Don't forget... these delivery issues could be on the buyer's side. Not being logged on, being in away or busy mode, etc. Those all affect the outcome of the purchases. It's up to the buyers to read the disclaimers on each purchase (and they are there every single time) explaining these things.

Yes glitches can and do happen... but I'm inclined to believe that these errors are mostly human made.

I bought a Valentine gift on friday, and now I have to believe it's lost. I thought that it could be delivered a bit late, but 4 days?

So what do I do now. If the delivery fails, do I get a note? And it was going to be a surprise, so maybe he was in "busy" mode. That's a big issue with "busy" mode... How can I send a surprise gift if I have to Im first and say"You aren't in Busy mode???"

Is it possible to find out what went wrong?

the closing of Onrez can be a factor also..i'm sure they have the people that were at onrez and not xstreet that are left with no choice but to move to xstreet now ..

Barring any malfunctions, you should have gotten a refund within a few hours of the delivery failing. If the amount has been debited from your account and the delivery didn't happen, contact Xstreet customer service.

XStreetSL works as reliably for me as it ever did.

I look up a product on XStreetSL. If it looks like a worthwhile product, I search for the vendor's store in-world and purchase the product there.

I only use XStreetSL to buy free things. (And I've made quite a few purchases of free things over XStreetSL in the past couple of weeks, and I have had problems with none of those.)

My boxes 3.0.9 haven't had a problem with deliveries, but my friend using version 3.0.10 has. Basically, XStreet was giving away his items for free, and lots of other peoples' too.

What happened was, he would get a delivery message from an inworld box, then 2 hours later he would get an email from XStreet saying the delivery failed and the shopper was not charged. But the shopper received the item! Check out the forums over there are you will find similar stories. He filed a support ticket with XStreet with copies of all the messages and they gave him his money, finally.

If any of you have had this problem, save the notices and file a support ticket with XStreet - don't let them give away your stuff for free! I am watching my transactions closely from now on after hearing this story.

A billion things could have "gone wrong". SL asset server borked, broken magic box, sim restart, your friend was busy or not online or clicked "decline" to the blue popup....

What you do NOW (they only try to redeliver for 2 hours) is you go to XStreet and go to your transaction history there. Find that transaction. Copy that information to your clipboard. Then go to the red HELP in the upper right corner. Open a delivery failure support ticket, explain what happened, and make sure you include your avatar's name and the recipient's name, and paste the transaction information into the ticket too.

In the past I have received a reply on the next business day; if you don't receive a reply by the second business day, submit it again, because it does seem their emails have been problematic lately.

If your transaction history doesn't show that transaction then the money was returned to your account because the magic box was able to communicate back to Xstreet that it was unable to deliver (you should have gotten an email if this was the case).

Well 2 days in a row now I have paid a XStreet terminal and recieved server timeout errors. My account was not credited and both times I had to wait a day to get them to credit my account. I guess all in all a day is not a long time to wait but it is when your staring at the dress you just have to have. It sucked because I couldn't shop on XStreet and I for sure wasn't going to try and pay it again and I couldn't tp inworld. Never had any problems before this.

That's happened off and on long before LL took over. I usually just emailed XStreet's support, attaching both emails to the new one that explained what happened. Usually got my payment within 24 hrs. This usually occurred when LL/SL was having issues with emails/communications. So, yeah... the bug is more LL's fault than XStreet's. Except that XStreet now belongs to LL! Bah.
