REALLY weird av problem

One of my residents has this freakish av issue...his face is distorted and he cant remove some clothing. We have tried the *black body folder*, clearing all the SL settings by deleting the folder...restarting region...clearing cache...et cetc etc , new skin , new shape..NOTHING works. we see him normally for a few moments, then this weird shape and face returns...ive seen nothing like it.

He has spoken to support who say its some sort of new bug?

Any one have any fixes, or have you heard of this? My partner thought it might be an animation that messes with your shape?

oh wow and now hes changing shape & clothes randonly without even doing anything..would this be an opengl thing?

is it like his jaw getting really big?
if so it's a really tuff sl glitch..
relogs and going into appearance help for a moment...

i want to say a reinstall is what my friend did but i really cannot remember if it was that or driver update or roll back on his video card..

OH WOW! HE DID update his drivers...we're trying that now...

I call this my "Jay Leno" look, and I believe is far more frightening than "Ruth".

While I've never reinstalled my viewer, the only remedy I've found was relogging and rebaking however many times until Mr. Leno was exorcised from my body.

its not going away..it does periodically..then returns he has reverted to the previous drivers...rebakes and we see him ok, but he doesnt

i have only seen it with the male avatars so far..i haven't heard of the womans avatars having this yet..so i don't know..just keep going into appearance and see if it finally stops
maybe someone will come a long that knows more about it..sorry i couldn't help

I recently had a problem with my avatar arms being 'deformed' by a shirt, making my arms fat. To fix it, I had to go into "edit appearance" and adjust any slider on the shirt. Just increasing or decreasing a slider by one number instantly made my arms pop back to normal.

Many clubs have objects you can click on to stop dancing and 'remove deformations'.

Turn off 'palletized textures' in the advanced > rendering > features
... or you can use the RC6 viewer which has removed palletized textures already.
After i rebaked, i still had to wait until everything downloaded before all the deformities went away.

Next, have you friend right click on himself, choose "take off" and then "detach all" to remove any attachments or HUDS that can contain scripts. Do the same for clothing, since clothing seems to be able to reshape your avatar.

You may want to try "Advanced > Character > character tests > test male"
and see if the default male avatar is subject to the same issues. If you don't have an advanced menu press ctrl + alt + d

If the problem persists, have your friend log in with a different character, but use the same computer and viewer.

phewwww...finally sorted it...thanks for the responses )

He cleared the apps file off, deleted the viewer, re downloaded...new shape & skin (for luck!) appearance mode, ctrl alt r....and voila...gone (fingers crossed it doesnt return)
