I'm a casual member of an arts group that has 4 sims, presenting plays there, for free of course. Their plays are hugely well attended, but tier is burying them, so for the opening show of this season (a contemporary play, opening soon), they are selling SL businesses the opportunity to place advertisements for their store/products as part of the set dressing.

Personally, I would get a kick out of seeing an ad for Pixel Dolls in the set's newspaper, or on a poster, but what do you think? Has the devil come to SL, or is this great innovative thinking?

p.s. If you are a business owner and are interested, send me a PM. I draw the pimp-my-favorite-nonprofit line at actually naming them :)

for me it would depend on the cost involved

I think that is the bottom line for anyone though

as for how I feel about it, advertising is advertising
doesn't matter where it is, as long as the person purchasing the spot gets their money's worth

(send me some info I am interested in learning more)

I think it's great for inworld resident owned businesses. The question is.....will it be cheating?

Sounds like something I would pay to see actually -- the plays I mean. Product placement wouldn't bother me.

I'll get the name from your profile maybe.

It could be very funny and potentially add to the show if you could incorporate it in something like the Pepsi/PizzaHut scene in Wayne's World.

I have sponsored events for years and find it a good way to generate traffic in some instances. I record the amount of LM's an AD dispenses to determine if it is cost effective but beyond that it can be a bit of a gamble.

To the OP, before sponsoring an event I would need to know your average traffic for each performace, how often your shows run, the duration of each show, i'd need to know of what methods you use to generate legit traffic, a price list would be handy plus I would need a LM so I could visit myself.

Send me those details on a notecard in world and I will have a looksie.

suggest you charge for a programme... giving details of the performers, plot, like a theatre programme real life... I would place an ad in that, or sponsoring that... get a good designer, make them collectable, rezzable.. like some of the gorgeous rezzable wedding invites I have received ... if you dont know what i mean I can show you inworld.. if you think it might be a good idea.. drop me an IM

It was a bit out of my price range, but I love the idea. :-)
