I'm getting a bright vertical line at left hand side of screen if I go to Edit/Prefferences/graphic and alter the setting down one or up one to ultra and back it goes away. Stays ok for a couple of log ins then returns. Happens on another PC as well, both have latest drivers for Nvidia 7000 series so I would think not wanting driver upgrade. Love June

There are still some cards that experience problems even with the latest drivers. The 8800GT comes to mind. Some people have no problems some have tons. I do not recall seeing any specific 7 series affected but who knows. Shooting from the hip: try different resolutions. Try fullscreen versus windowed. Try dif settings for Anti-Aliasing. Hope the next driver release fixes it. edit: there's also that "hardware mouse acceleration" thingie. See if changing that makes any difference.

I have a bright vertical line on the left of the screen, if the window isn't maximized.

I had the bright line on the RC viewer yesterday with window maxed; I changed the settings then changed them back and it went away; I don't know if it will reappear. I don't usually use the RC viewer, but I'll log in and out on it a few times just to experiment. I haven't had anything odd on the official viewer.
Update: logged in and it was back, and furthermore although I thought it was maxed it was not (looked it but wasn't). I maxed it and the stripe disappeared. Thank you, Day Oh.

RC 1.20.13 took the problem away. Now it's back with RC 1.20.14
Are you still having this problem, or did you find a cure? Love June

Is it anything like the bright line on the right side of this image? http://www.sluniverse.com/snapzilla_snapshots/walker_moore_misty_welcome_area_269825.jpg It was actually much brighter in a sunlit scene. Anyway, I posted about this months ago at SLU, and it turned out to be because I'd tweaked some settings in the NVidia control panel that conflicted with SL's settings. I'm not sure if it's the same in your case, but I just figured it was worth mentioning. My problem vanished when NVidia released a new driver IIRC.. but then I raised the quality bar on a number of settings, and the line came back. Argh! So I reinstalled the driver which fixed it again. If I'm not mistaken turning ansiotropic up to 16x was the issue... but my memory might be faulty.

Yes, but on the left and slightly further in. My settings for SL and Nvidia are all default as far as I know. Will try to find the setting you mention, but I normal leave settinga alone in case I mess up. I do have latest Nvidia driver about a couple of weeks old. Thanks June

The only other thing I can think of troubleshooting is your SL settings. It might be worth deleting them and relaunching SL to see if the problem is still there. The settings are all in the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife folder (on Vista). If you copy that folder to your desktop, delete the original folder, and the anomaly has vanished the next time you launch SL, you know your SL settings had something to do with it. If not, you can just return the backed up folder to its original location to restore your settings.
