Object missing from database question.

I have an inventory issue that stumps me. I purchased two new hair last night. Same hair in two different shades and purchased them within a minute of each other. I can see both in inventory. I can wear one shade without issue. When I try to wear the other, I get an error: "Unable to create requested object. Object missing from database." I've had things go completely missing before, but never anything like this one.

I've tried the usual clear cache, relog, clear cache again, etc. Can still see it but can't wear it. Any ideas?

contact the creator and see if they will replace it for you (hair usually is no xfer so should be no reason for them to not replace it)

who knows why things go missing when they do, they just do and it is annoying as heck

when I get that msg I just delete the dang thing, it is already gone!

I'd try again in a couple hours. That error triggers an asset recovery and, if they can find it, it'll automatically be restored.

If it's still broken tomorrow, either do a support ticket or, as Rhaorth says, ask the creator for another copy.

Welcome to the forums!

Yes, I'd wait 24 hours to see if it gets restored, as Sindy suggested. But given the state of the database, though, and the fact that it's a real object instance not a texture or notecard, etc., I kinda doubt it will come back. Would be interested to hear, either way.

Just FYI, for this particular error, the usual clear cache regimen shouldn't really help. I'd have tried it myself, just in case something really weird was going on, but something missing from database isn't quite the same as something missing from inventory altogether (for which indeed the "clear cache / relog / delete app folder / relog / rinse / repeat" trick often works).

I had a customer IM me yesterday with this problem, they had bought two of my items, and when they tried to rez the boxes, they received that message on both. I exchanged their bad boxes for two good ones, but I'm hanging onto the bad ones to see if they are recovered or not.

I tried them last night and still coming up as missing. I'll give it another 24 hours and then trash them. The thing is they can't *really* be missing as i have the original box, and it's fine. I suspect that instance of the item is just messed up. :\

There was one texture pack that I bought from Lauren Fox that was just wonky. Dang thing wouldn't show up. After a day of this error, she replaced it - it just didn't come back.

Last night, I noticed some sleeve attachments (ribbons) showed up in my inventory, but when I tried to wear them, I got the 'missing from database' message. How can they still be in the blouse folder, but 'missing'? I find that weird. I'll see tonight if they reappear.
