What happens is that you make your land group owned and pay money to the people renting out the tier. Then you add the tier contributors to your group and give them the ability to contribute tier to the group. They then contribute the agreed amount of tier to the group. They need to stay into the group until you decide you no longer want to rent the tier though.
Someone will correct or expand where I may have omitted or got anything wrong I am sure ![]() _____________________

sounds about right to me
remember renting tier doesn't mean you get the land with it, you still have to buy the land for the group. I thought about renting tier from folks, but decided nah and just made my alt premium (and got one hell of a deal on the land that I wanted to purchase, I was very very happy to get it, to say the least) ![]() (A big ty to the person who sold it to me IF they read the forums) hehe _____________________

Renting tier is good because:
* You'll usually get a discount off LL's posted tier fees because those that offer tier for rent get tier at LL's lowest rate per m2 (becasue they are usually at the highest tier level) * Flexible: ** You can usually start renting tier and end the agreement at any time - as opposed to LL where they'll charge you tier for the full month even if you get land one day before your tier is due ** You can usually lease the exact amount of tier you need. You could rent tier for 3072m2 or 3400m2....with LL you have to stick to the tier levels they have available * You can also usually deal in L$ and in world, so you don't need to go through some other billing service (of course all of this depends on your agreement with the perosn whom you rent tier from -- these points just cover the best aspects) -2fast |

Hi Dartagnan,
You may remember me. I checked your place the other day, but you were away. Sorry to see things are much the same renter wise. I don't recall if your land and builds are set to group. I know it was not at our first meeting. The thing to remember, is that you will need to deed all of your objects to group once you deed the land to group, otherwise you will get a nasty surprise when you set auto return. I can't understand how someone could do rentals w/out forming a group to administer permissions, etc... Next time I see you are inworld when I am as well, I will come over. Love, Jannae _____________________

you do not need to deed the objects to group, to keep them from being returned on group build auto return land
you just need to set them to group. deed them if you so desire, but keep in mind, deed essentially makes the group the owner of the prims/object _____________________

Love, Jannae Hi Jannae, I just was able to check this post. Did not get a chance to read it before. Sorry. I did form a group, but am having trouble with permissions and the like. I finally rented one 512 out but now I need to have my renter be able to have full access (without being able to sell it of course) I have a seperate thread that I started on the matter. Please IM when you are inworld if you would like to take a look. Did some things differently. Thanks. |
