I'm not a land baron, so I'd appreciate a little
help with the group/tier thing as it might be a
good thing for this situation.
Right now I own 4144 sqm. I have 464 sqm available
for purchase within my current tier level of $25.
I want to buy another 512 which is 48 over my tier.
Can donating a 512 parcel to a group help to keep
me at the current tier of $25?
Pardon my ignorance; I've done some reading about
land fees and schedules but I'm not "getting it"
completely... =)

me at the current tier of $25? Yep. Have to be a little bit careful about how it's donated, so you don't accidentally have tier covering the same property owned by the group and individually. But yeah, you got the right idea. |

Why not form a group, possibly with an alt, then deed all your land to that group. That would give you a lot more available tier, ie 10% of the land you donate.

- Infrared A few questions Infrared... If you're land is held by you as an individual and you are paying all of the tier on it why then consider donating the same amount of land to a group that you wish to buy? 1. If you deed it will the group expect you to contribute the tier along with it? You can't simply donate land to a group if it doesnt have enough tier to cover it. 2. Once you donate the land you realise that that land is no longer yours right? The group you donate to can do as they please with it. (Which won't matter if it's your group I guess) Having said that, why not create a group of your own, making sure there are at least two members and simply donate all your land to your own group along with the contribution which will net you another 10% of land available for purchase. Once you've done that you can then purchase your other 512 for your group and stay within your tier and keep control of all of your land. Just a suggestion. Edit: LOLOL yeah what he said  and before doing this might I also suggest you join the group inworld called Land Answers. This is made up of residents who have knowledge of dealings in SL land. ~B |
