Any benefit in 'disabling collisions' on private region?

Hi - is it worth 'disabling collisions' on a private region? Will this improve sim preformance?
As far as I know none of my objects require collisions to be enabled.

When I look at 'top colliders' in my region it mainly shows floor panels that are slightly overlapping and things like that. Will there be any benefit in disabling collisions?

Thx!

Give it a shot and see what happens. I think collisions are what allow you to stand on the floor instead of fall through it, but it would be good to know for sure. I won't try it on my own sim because I don't know what it would do to anyone else's items.

Disable Collisions does not work the way you might expect it to.

I played around with it a while back and what it appears to do is suppress the collision events in LSL scripts. It doesn't kill them though, just queues them. Then if you re-enable collisions later, the queued events will all fire at once.

It doesn't stop physical collisions from occuring, which I believe is what you see in the Top Colliders window.

p.s. Unless they've changed things around since I played with it... in which case nevermind. :) Either way, there's no harm in testing it and seeing what happens.

I thought non-physical prims wouldn't trigger collisions but I'm a mainland dweller and don't have access to top scripts/colliders.

Is this normal? If not, you may have set a floor to be physical and you'll get a much better perf boost by fixing that..

Nonphysical prims will show up in Top Colliders when something physical is colliding with them. Avatars and vehicles, for example. I see it all the time myself, and was confused at first till I realized the nonphys prim was registering because someone was walking on it.

Ok.. That would probably make sense for floors then.. :)

TY!
