Make, or obtain, a texture that is partly transparent. I'm thinking of hair that has wispy ends, that sort of thing. If you apply such a texture (called an alpha texture) to a prim, the transparent part of the texture is invisible. Applying them to flexiprims is exactly the same as applying them to normal ones. I make my alpha textures in Photoshop and save them as Targa files. The process is a bit complicated and the procedure has to be rigidly obeyed for success, but once familiar it's not too bad. There are tutorials on making semi-transparent textures in the texturing section of this forum.

Seems Conifer's example of hair re the wispy ends is saying to create the look of a multiple texture as on e texture. Is that what u meant Conifer? If I misunderstood sorry- if that was the meaning that could be the answer to the OP, but I am not sure I understand the OP- other than "select" and just bringing in a fuller texture (that u wd then have to nudge and ship and adjust thru repeats and off-sets), could u expand on the question?
