This thread has the distinct look and texture of Spam.

And as a handy result, the commercial services you offer.

This doesn't belong in Resident Answers.

Can an alt move in to this place? I'm sure an alt can help people a lot too.

15 hours a month/week/day?
and how long can they stay once they get there?
is it residential or commercial?

There is no catch, I wish i had someone doing this for me when i started playing second life, and again there is no catch and i reap no benefits from this, it is a loss to me as i could sell the land and ge tier in advance for 900 per week, so do you see me gaining any benefits from this???

oh wait i see a net loss of 48 parcels times 900 week = net loss of 43200 times 4 weeks = net loss per month of 172800.

I can see the benefits being gained if the land is only available free until they are 30 days old, then you hope they will rent other land from you for a more permanent period?

Mmmm.... you *obviously* are benefiting from this.

It can be pure of heart, you may truly be trying to help people (and I think you are) but at the same time you have a resident-attracting engine, which in a few short weeks will start converting some percentage of them into paying estate residents.

And that's fine. But to call it completely benefitless is not right. You have a rental estate, "RGF Estates", yes?

I'd call it benefitless if you weren't renting out land for $L whatsoever.

* * * * *

Tier on an entire region, or 64 of those parcels is only about $L 80k (295 USD/month).

Try telling the US IRS that you spent 1000 USD on advertising, but your 'true losses' were 5000 USD because you could have plowed that same 1000 into inventory and product sales.

Not buying the 200% plus markup.

* * * * *

I don't have a problem with you casually mentioning your estate's projects, or the fun you are having with your estate on the grid - we all like to talk about what we do. But I tend to agree that the initial first post here is over the line and belongs in Classified, just like the loss-leader cars from used car dealerships. What you've done is acted as if *your* offer was somehow more special than anyone else's, and belongs on the front page of the paper.

There are a lot of people who do this sort of thing and post here frequently, but don't make a thread about it in Resident Answers. Most land barons with a large estate generally have some program or other like this. I can't think of any that don't, in fact.

If the goal is truly to get the word out to new residents here, then for their benefit shouldn't they hear about even better offerings than yours in this thread?

That would help even more new residents.

I would like some more information on this please.... such as what happens after the 30 days.

How much support is available etc... Newbies (such as myself) will have no idea what is involved with having land, setting up a house etc. It's okay for us to accept it, but what's the point if we don't know what to use it for.

More help would be great, :)

Thanks!

(edit to preface - no this post really isn't a question for this forum)

but -

When I was new someone referred me to a wonderful gentleman who had a series of 512 cottages set up for 30 day use - no charge at all - and when I was done he never once suggested buying any further land from him. In fact - I never have heard from him since.

He was just there to answer questions and help me get a grasp on the whole rezzing objects/adjusting prims, and starting out in SL thing. I can't express how important those 30 days were for me.

I'm not saying that is is the intention of the poster - but just thought I would mention that there are some great people out there just being supportive and helpful.

I think it would be inappropriate to discuss my estate whatsoever in this thread. Sorry to disappoint, I know you are trying to be nice.
