HI we are considering moving our store to a private island, the store has been about for almost 2 years and is established in the sim its in, has anyone else done this with their store and was it hard to build up the customer base again? - basically just worried cos of the years spent on traffic and search, just want to know if its at all possble to move stores quickly and keep successful. thanks in advance

keep a small plot in the sim it is currently in and put a small store there, with a lm and card saying that you moved the main store

pack it all with builders buddy
rez at the new place and delete what has been moved and manually move stuff that wasn`t packed as Rah said, keep a small building, make a good sized texture that you`ve moved and a lm giver on touch so they can find the new location also update all picks and classified as most forget about that |

once you move and update your picks and make sure you are in search, you'll see regular traffic again within 2-3 days, at worst.
you don't HAVE TO keep a plot at your old land for long, but i do recommend it for at least the first 3-4 days after you relocate. _____________________

oh yeah and remember to change out your landmarks in all the items that have landmarks in them
(that is the part that will give you a headache, if you have everything packed up with a LM) also make a note of it in your profile (picks is a good place for it) with a pick set to the new places and the description saying you have relocated _____________________

I moved my large store from one sim to another, without any deterioration in sales. Here's the way I did it.
I set up the new store while the old store was still operating, and ran them both for a while, until I got the new store up in the "All" search rankings. While that was happening, I had LM giving signs in the old store, informing of the move. It didn't take too long to get the new store up the rankings. I kept the old store showing in search, of course, or I would have immediately lost my top "All" rankings. When the new store was ranked one down from the old store, I stopped the old one from showing is search, and the new one took its place in search. I removed the old store's content and placed more LM giving signs in various spots to accomodate people who had LMed and Picked the store in various spots and would land at those spots. I waited a few more weeks, to allow people with LMs and Picks a chance to land in the old store, see the signs, and get a new LM. But the time came when I decided I'd waited long enough, and I sold the old land. Sales were not affected by the move, and my search rankings were also not affected by it. It all went very smoothly. _____________________

I moved from the mainland to a private estate a week ago. Once I had my building in place, I turned the back half of my old store physical and unlinked it letting the pieces fall in on themselves.
I then sent out a notice to my group saying that "Due to the collapse of the back half of my store, I have had to relocate." My sales were twice what they normally were, and lots of new people came to see the beautiful new sim I moved to. A couple of my friends still think it was SL's fault that my store fell in. I wonder if I should let them off the hook? I do still own the landing point for my old store and it has a sign with a landmark giver to the new store. I had fun moving, and your customers will find you. I would not hesitate to move if I were you. _____________________
