you don't have to delete your old one. Just create a new account. You can have many accounts in SL.

Yes, I would create an alt first and transfer as much as you can to the alt and then delete your current account. One of my tenents did that 2 or 3 months ago. Non transferable items will be lost though, and with the way sl has been screwing up, you can plan on losing additional items.

You can creat 3 or 4 per email address, so after that you need to use an alternative email address.
When you go into create new account, it says something about charging you $9.95 for each alt account, ignore that and just make the new account, I've never heard of anyone actually being charged. _____________________

Go to:
http://www.secondlife.com/ Look in the upper-right corner of the page. If it has your name, click the Logout link and go back to the above URL. Then, sign-up again as you did the first time. --Hugsy _____________________

When you go to the main site, look for your name in the upper right corner of the screen. Look for the "Log Out" link. Click that, and then go back to the main page. You'll have the "Join Now" option again.

yu don't have to delete the old account..........you might even want to use it once n a while. As a builder I find having an alt mandatory for confirming that permissions have been properly set BEFORE distributing via sales/samples/etc. Do things purchase properly? Can they be adequatly modifiable? Many people keep an alt as a linden bank or as an inventory backup. use an alt to anonymously gift your friend. _____________________

I think it's a great idea to start out knowing you may have to change your mind several times. You may get several alts before you're really happy with one.
If you have privacy issues with the computer you're using and you really do want to delete the old account, it's a good idea to look in the Second Life folders for chat logs and other things pertaining to the old account. You might want to delete those too. |
