title gets most of it...
Looking for suggestions on a darker take on kids clothes, but not goth (at least not obviosly so).... A bit of wednsday adaams (from the movie), creepy, for less than obvious reasons, but realistic
clothes are the big thing, but I'm also interested in shapes, skins, and shoes (hard to find decent shoes), hair I got covered (free plug for CAKE, v nice flexi)
age range is about 10-12, so no really young stuff, but no overly shadowed made ofr the average av with double E's. hopefully something that will err on the side of modest?
any help?

One of my friend's sons is an 11-year-old Goth. He just wears all black, right down to black Docs. Obviously not allowed any piercings or tattoos yet. I think they're hoping he'll grow out of it before he can do that.
Someone was looking for female Doc Martin-like shoes on the forums recently. Would they work? All you need then is some black jeans and a black t-shirt and a bit of Goth jewellery. Don't skins resize automatically. Sorry, no expert.

the problem I've had with most skins is that they're overshaded... not really apropros for a girl that age...
as for styles, I'm looking at both modern and neo-victorian (gotta fit in over in caledon too ya know)...
docs might work for the modern look, and if someone knows a good shop for tiny feet (or mod, hah, yeah right I know), that don't add 9 inches to my height because of they way they're built all the better =) ...
cheerful EGL is also an option

My first thought would be Grim Dolls at Sleepy Hollow, then maybe Draconic Kiss (ignoring their fetish range, of course). Also check out Boneflower on Temenos. Bare Rose have plenty of EGL too.

Try hyasynth Tiramisu's Silent Sparrow shop/sim. Loads of pseudo Victorian/goth stuff that also works for kids (I should know, my kid avatar keeps wearing the stuff) (And grown up Alyx has her own FOLDER for Sparrow stuff...)

Gritty Kitty has some nice clothes that also fit kids, like hooded sweaters and stuff like that. FKNY has sneakers that come in small and even xsmall sizes.

I've picked up some good stuff from FORM.
There is a lot in Inner Child with some awesome Edgar & Ellen kind of clothes. All I can remember right now is that I picked up a really nice stripped shirt and a Jack the Pumpkin King shirt. I think it's one of the corner lots or near a corner lot.

From: Void Singer the problem I've had with most skins is that they're overshaded... not really apropros for a girl that age... I feel like I've gone from havin' to do daily "kids is OK in SL" to daily "check out Robin Sojourner's skins." Not dat I mind. But check her's out, cuz I think -- especially witht he advent of WL -- she's got a good level of shading. From: someone as for styles, I'm looking at both modern and neo-victorian (gotta fit in over in caledon too ya know)... I wonder if some of the gothic lolita outfits would be worth eyeballing? Lots of black lace and stuff on some of them. Not exactly my style, but it might work. I've known other kids looking for a Wednesday Addams look that have come up short though -- so maybe someone reading this could fill that gap? From: someone docs might work for the modern look, and if someone knows a good shop for tiny feet (or mod, hah, yeah right I know), that don't add 9 inches to my height because of they way they're built all the better =) ... I don't have a LM handy, but check out the shoes from Vertically Challenged by Kandace Commons. They're great for kids' feet, and might have the right sort of look for ya. From: someone and while I'm at it, a decent low chat volume group.... with mischevious titles I quit all my kids groups a while back and can't remember most of them... no adoption related stuff.. I have too much family to keep track of with friends I pick up day to day =) I'd suggest rejoining Second Life Children, of course. There was a "Kids' group of random titles" I was in for a while (ran out of group spaces) and a "kids for cthulhu" out there. Not sure if either is still around. From: Abu Nasu There is a lot in Inner Child with some awesome Edgar & Ellen kind of clothes. All I can remember right now is that I picked up a really nice stripped shirt and a Jack the Pumpkin King shirt. I think it's one of the corner lots or near a corner lot. I hope those weren't rotated out post-Hallowe'en. I'll hafta check on my next sweep. Mari

Jeremy lot 29 SW inside corner Stripped shirts and various still there , but looks like Jack and similar has been taken down. The stripped shirts are some of the best I've seen. Some are unisex. Tuck/untuck. And good variety for a multitude of moods. The one that I bought is rather mime-ish and I love it.
edit:
The Pumpkin King that I bought is actually a pajama set by Becca Darling. I have no idea where her lot in Inner Child is.
Ah, lots 93 + 95.
Okay, I'm off to wander.

Thankoo, though Aetherstyle is also a blast of a store. Love Aestival's stuff. Message me inworld an I'll getcha fixed up in the SLC group, 'kay? Mari

Mari Erm, actually, my grown up avatar (all five foot something of her!) wears the stripy outfit as well. I really love it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/alyxsands/1681610347/in/set-72157600289116969/

I did reply, though Well, I did't say it was jes for kids - she has it in both stores, an a lot of her stuff is purty transferrable. Mari
