Yeah, can't get in either. After staring at the screen for a few minutes I get a message about a new version to download, then I get an error and SL quits on me.

I can't log in either, it just sits at the "may appear frozen" screen, the blue bar never moves... Yeah, think there's an issue somewheres. ^^;;

dunno about anyone else, but the forums suddenly seems slower.
all those getting booted, logging into the forums is causing it to drag hehe

Time for another Text SL thread? I can't get in either.

I think they managed to finally perform a Hat Trick (3 goals, in hockey)...

1. They released a new RC viewer, with the unwanted Age Verification feature, which apparently does not even work (one person who tested it found that an age-restricted parcel wouldn't give entry to an age-verified person).

2. They broke the grid so that the main viewer can't be used to log in.

3. Ditto for the Windlight First Look viewer.

Hoo-fricking-rah.

[Edit: Like Nimue says, it does appear to be making progress...but ever so sloooowly.]

Having trouble logging in/staying connected in WoW too, (using Lightninghoof server, a west coast server, I believe). Possibly this is due to weather out west or in between somewhere?

Oh, I see. So this "non-mandatory" update, and BETA age verification, that doesn't even work right yet, is actually MANDATORY?

I think LL has been taking lessons from all those Privacy Act statements that say, in effect, "disclosure of your SSAN is voluntary. But if you don't, we won't give you whatever it is that you're trying to get."

I have noticed if I auto log in (by my shorcut that has -noprobe -user first last pass) SL crashes to the desktop on logins IF there is a new TOS or similar popup window. but when I use the norrmal shortcut I log in fine (and get the the popup)... probably not what's happening now, but useful info for those that have speed icons like that.
