Hi everyone, I'm on my parcel and I received an IM that red banlines are not allowed, which is fine with me, I understand and agree. My question is I thought I didn't have any banlines up...the box to allow public access should be checked, correct?? That would mean no banlines up?

Thanks,
Ashe

Banlines are allowed, they're not pretty but not illegal either, if they were we wouldn't have the option to use them :)

could be covenant land then they could be banned. never assume people own land, many rent under the assumption they own it.

Hmm can't estate owners turn the banline option off though?

depends on what rights the land owner gives.

If you are using the ACCESS feature in About Land, anyone not on that list will see banlines around the parcel.

Thanks to everyone--

Claari, yes, I am using it through the access tab, so what do I check (or leave unchecked) to make absolutely no banlines showing? Sorry, I am confused :)

According to this resident's report, banlines may or may not be against the TOS depending on the size of the parcel http://www.ace-exchange.com/home/story/BDVR/589

Other than that :), if you have public access enabled, make sure the person's name isn't in the list of banned residents

I am renting on a private estate where the covenant says no banlines....I don't have a problem with that. But, one of the other residents IM'd saying they were up. I don't want banlines up and thought they were not enabled. My question is, on the access tab in about land, what should be checked or unchecked to ensure they are disabled??

Sorry Day, you must have been answering when I was posting.

I have the allow public acess checked, and there are no names in my ban or allow list---does that make it no banlines??

There shouldn't be any if you have public access checked. One more thing to check, however.. edit: look under block by and make sure you have neither of those checked. They can be checked with the public access checked..
